"To the extent that the United States has imposed gun controls on a population 'protected' by our Bill of Rights, we have a measure of how socialist our country has become. Furthermore, government was seen as having no rights, but only a few well-defined duties. Socialism requires the reversal of our founding premises." ...

"I hope you all read the Doonesburry Comic by Garry Trudeau published June 28th. He is making fun of the NRA and Wayne LaPierre. Basically Mr. LaPiaborterre is asking Congress not to take automatic weapons from the Iraq people. Then it goes on to say that Congress is about to restore this right to bear automatic weapons to the people of America. It would be hypocrisy not to allow the Iraqi's this same right, according to Trudeau." ...

"A company called Accu-Counter in Kenton County will receive a $2 million contract to provide its unique product for firearms to it military."
"The device, called an Accu-Counter, is like a 'black box' for a gun. It keeps a microchip record of the time, date and number of rounds fired from a weapon. The quarter-size microchip device is already in use in Newport, where it measures use of the officers' Glock 9mm sidearms."
------- How long before New Jersey requires these "black boxes" to be installed on all firearms sold? |

"Let us take the arguments of the pro-gun group one by one."
"One, the right to bear arms is a constitutional right."
"Why so? There is nothing in the Constitution that says so. Unlike the American Constitution, the Philippine Constitution does not guarantee the right to bear arms."
"A constitutional right is one that aspires toward universality, or applies to everyone and not just a few individuals. If it benefits only a few individuals, then it is not a right, it is a privilege."
------- The right to life is a universal one, applying to all individuals, and as such, the right to defend that life with the most effective tool available is an extension. |

"Their apparent home invasion is believed to be one of a string of 15 similar incidents that have happened in the Niles and South Bend area since April."
"In most of the incidents, the assailants have targeted senior citizens, often overpowering them, tying them up, and terrorizing them while searching their homes for money and valuables."
"And as the toll continues to mount, others who have not been victimized are beginning to lose their sense of security, as entire neighborhoods keep a wary eye for suspicious strangers who might be plotting the next robbery."

"Armed robbers carjacked a Bronx police officer on his way home from work yesterday morning, fleeing in his car as he fired shots at them from his service weapon, police said."
"The officer was driving home from his shift around 12:20 am when a black pickup truck rear-ended him twice."
"The second time he and the truck's driver got out of their vehicles, and the truck's driver began telling the officer, who was not in uniform, not to call police, authorities said."
