There is a saying long held in self-defense training circles: “You are on your own.” This tenant refers to the clear fact that the majority of the time, violence occurs fast, and law enforcement is unlikely to be there to intercede. Thus, you are on your own in an emergency, and you should train and equip yourself to deal with such. |

It is vital that all gun owners in Ohio VOTE YES on Issue 1 in the Aug. 8 special election. A YES vote on Issue 1 protects our Constitution and Second Amendment rights from deep-pocketed, out-of-state interests. By passing Issue 1, the People of all 88 counties will ensure constitutional changes are widely accepted and declare that Ohio’s Constitution is not for sale to gun grabbers like Mike Bloomberg and his paid minions. |

It’s currently illegal to carry a concealed pistol on the premises of schools, day cares and sporting arenas, but one Michigan Republican is looking to make an exemption to that ban should these places reside in a specific place: college or university campuses.
Current state law bans concealed pistol license holders from carrying inside the dormitories or classrooms of a community college, college or university. University boards also have the ability to restrict firearms on campus altogether, with many – like MSU, University of Michigan and Grand Valley State University – already electing to do so. |

When your name is an answer—or question—on Jeopardy!, you know you’ve made it into the American lexicon. That happened to Marion P. Hammer in the mid-1990s after she became the National Rifle Association’s first woman president. And while many across the country learned her name for the first time on the iconic game show, NRA members have long known her as one of the Second Amendment's staunchest defenders. |

Two new Rasmussen polls have President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, on the receiving end of bad news, as a majority (55%) of likely voters disapprove of the plea bargain that kept the younger Biden out of jail—while settling an alleged gun law violation that would have put others in prison—and even more (58%) believe Joe was involved in his son’s foreign business dealings.

My friend Alex runs “The Suited Shootist,” a community dedicated to those who like to dress well while heavily armed. It’s an important topic, because I’ve noticed a certain groupthink when it comes to the firearms community and clothing. We (as guys) tend to fall into one of two camps. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
As civil rulers, not having their duty to the people before them, may attempt to tyrannize, and as the military forces which must be occasionally raised to defend our country, might pervert their power to the injury of their fellow citizens, the people are confirmed by the article in their right to keep and bear their private arms. — Tench Coxe in `Remarks on the First Part of the Amendments to the Federal Constitution' under the Pseudonym "A Pennsylvanian" in the Philadelphia Federal Gazette, June 18, 1789 at 2 col. 1. |
