"Wow, there is an app out there that allows people to mark any home as a gun place or unsafe gun owner. I think we need a federal law to prevent this kind of thing. There are State laws about publishing the names and addresses of gun owners but no such Federal law or, it seems, no law about individuals doing so using smart phone software. This software seems to be touted as a sort of national gun registry where anti gun people can provide the addresses of those with guns or unsafe gun conditions. Seems that there are privacy issues at stake here and an organized opposition to the software developer who apparently is involved in other activities that has drawn attention. This opens the door for malicious people to mark your house as a gun free zone when it may not be one. However, unless you have this application on your smart phone, you may not even know it.
