“No killer is going to walk away because a little sign says he can’t bring a firearm inside,” says Praesidium writer Paul Myzia on the short film’s Indigogo page. Myzia is the Warrenville, Illinois cinematographer behind Reel Clef Studios
Praesidium, which is defined as a standing executive committee in a communist country, focuses on the fact that while we cannot change the past, we can help save our future by eliminating ‘gun-free’ zones that only serve to disarm law-abiding citizens. |

At a local shooting range, the 23-year-old president of the Salt Lake City chapter of Pink Pistols, a national lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender gun club, helps a tattooed member improve his marksmanship.
An openly gay professional bodypiercer, Matt Schlentz said members of the LGBT community feel more at risk of being a victim of a hate crime or violent assault. The mass murder at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, last month, confirmed their concerns. |

In a video taken in New York this past Saturday, professional race baiter Reverend Al Sharpton can be heard claiming the NRA is racist, and that African-Americans “do not have the same Second Amendment rights as others”.
“Where is the NRA now?!” Sharpton screamed from a podium as he preached to a crowd about the officer-involved shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. “Maybe you mean that the Second Amendment are for whites only!” |

While serving in Congress, Mike Pence signed the historic brief filed before the U.S. Supreme Court in McDonald v. City of Chicago, which argued that the Second Amendment guarantees a fundamental, individual Right to Keep and Bear Arms for all law-abiding Americans. Pence cosponsored and voted for H.R. 822, “The National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act,” which would ensure that law-abiding Americans with valid concealed handgun permits would be able to carry a concealed handgun in any other state that does not prohibit concealed carry. He also cosponsored H.R. 645, “The Second Amendment Enforcement Act,” to repeal the D.C. gun ban/registration statute and restore the right of self-defense to law-abiding residents of our nation’s capital. |

The results of an annual survey of top law enforcement officials by the National Association of Chiefs of Police (NACOP) shows most of the nation’s top cops support the Second Amendment and concealed carry, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said today.
Results from the 28th annual NACOP survey appear in the current issue of The Chief of Police magazine. CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb said the survey results could give headaches to the gun prohibition lobby, especially on the subject of concealed carry. |

Gun store owner Jonathan Hirsch stood behind a glass case full of handguns Thursday, with dozens of AR variants and other long rifles resting against the wall behind him.
More people coming into his Adelbridge & Co. Firearms store on the North Side in the past few weeks are buying handguns and self-defense shotguns, including more African-Americans and first-time buyers.
“People feel like they may be persecuted by society or by who knows what and they want to feel protected, so I think it’s a good thing,” Hirsch said. |

Fort Worth’s Star-Telegram reported on Wednesday of an armed robbery in DeSoto, Texas, “DeSoto police have identified the man who robbed a Waffle House last week with an AK-47, but was shot in the parking lot by a customer who was legally carrying a concealed handgun.”
“Antione Devon Cooper, 26, of Dallas, reportedly stormed into the restaurant around 2:30 a.m. on July 7 brandishing the assault weapon,” reported the Star-Telegram. “He stole money from multiple customers and the Waffle House register, according to a police report.”
When the alleged robber fled the scene into the parking lot, a customer followed him.

America is safe for Jews, but guns make us safer

America is a uniquely safe harbor for Jews, even though we’re less than 2 percent of the population — hardly a large enough tribe to protect itself. Death by violence, including death by firearms, is rare within the Jewish community.
For over 200 years, the constitutional “right to keep and bear arms” has served as the bedrock of American Jewish safety. The founding fathers recognized that there was no greater danger than a government gone mad; the tragic history of Jewish suffering, including the Holocaust, validates this wisdom. Given all this, my gentile “gun nut” friends sometimes ask: “How can the Jews be so anti-gun?”
Ed.: 2% is about 6 million Jews--a more than large enough number to protect themselves. |

With more than 10,000 members and more added daily, the Facebook group Sheepdog Mamas serves as a one-stop shop for women interested in personal protection.
Their name is derived from the Parable of the Sheep — a story about a rebel band of sheep and their use of concealed weapons. The group aims to help women fend of the wolves in their own lives using a variety of self-defense related tools and knowledge. |

The open-carry movement faced a very public test in Dallas last week. It failed.
While concealed carry can be championed ostensibly as a means of self-defense, open carry prioritizes performance over pragmatism. After all, openly carrying a firearm is an ideological statement more than a self-defense posture: It cedes the crucial element of surprise to an armed assailant. Open carry’s true goal is to normalize extreme gun culture by making firearms familiar, visible and ubiquitous.
Ed.: The antis are upset that the black open carriers acted responsibly and prudently, taking all the wind out of their 'wild west' scenario. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. |

With Democrats unable to sell their awful ideas on gun control policy, they’re becoming more and more irrational in their future proposals. Right now, there’s a piece of legislation that’s destined for legislative death, which would ban people under the age of 16 from firing AR-15 rifles (“weapons of war”), or any firearm considered to be “military-style” because that’s totally enforceable, said by no one ever (via The Hill): |
