A Terrebonne Parish K-9 police dog bit a woman in Bourg on Tuesday morning, according to spokesman Malcom Wolfe.
The woman, 20-year-old Jessica Brister, went outside to her vehicle in her driveway around 9:15 a.m. when the dog, which was housed next door, bit her.
The K-9 dog was left inside of a locked kennel and in the backyard of an enclosed, wooden 6-feet fence, Wolfe said. He said police aren’t sure how it managed to escape.
Brister was transported to the hospital, where she is scheduled to undergo surgery for injuries to her right forearm.
Wolfe said the dog was removed from the residence and has been transported to a secured location -------

Buy a truck and get a free AK-47 gun.
That's the deal a Missouri truck dealer is offering new customers who buy a pick-up truck in August.
Mark Muller, owner of Max Motors in Butler, says he knows people will be bothered by the promotion.
But not to worry, Muller is not handing out free guns. Instead, he will give buyers a voucher to use at a gun store after they obtain a license to carry a concealed weapon.
The AK-47 is an upgrade on a previous promotion in which Muller gave away vouchers for the price of a Caltec pistol.
The retail value of an AK-47 is $450 dollars but Muller says customers can spend their voucher on the gun of their choice. |

On July 13 a writer stated in a Letter to the Editor that 'the NRA is a lobbying organization dedicated to putting more guns in the hands of criminals.' The writer then rambles on about the NRA advancing its 'radical program' and having 'access to our libraries.'"
"So not only does this writer have a problem with the Second Amendment ... but they also take issue with the First Amendment, which allows the dissemination of differing ideas in our libraries."
"Perhaps this writer should consider a move to Cuba or North Korea where they won't have to worry about annoying things like constitutional rights." |
