A U.S. Customs and Border Protection watch commander at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach has admitted to running an illegal gun operation. When investigators searched Xu’s home, they found more than 250 weapons, including 41 machine guns and two short-barreled rifles. None was registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, officials said.

Xu pleaded guilty to illegally selling guns on the internet, some of which he obtained by using his power as a law enforcement official, and to creating a fake company to avoid paying taxes, prosecutors said. He also pleaded guilty to illegally possessing unregistered firearms and making false statements to a federal agency about his involvement with a Chinese company.

The apparent arson attack by a man who allegedly was screaming “You die!” as he torched an animation studio in Kyoto, Japan Thursday, leaving more than 30 people dead, stands as a graphic reminder that “mass murder maniacs” will find a way to commit mayhem, even where guns are essentially outlawed.

The billionaire-supported gun prohibition movement has re-packaged its gun control agenda as a public health crisis, trying to convince the public that the cure to violent crime is to amputate the Second Amendment from the Bill of Rights, the Second Amendment Foundation said today.

“They couldn’t sell gun control as crime control,” said SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb. “Then they couldn’t sell gun control as gun safety. Now they’re trying to convince the public that gun ownership is a public health issue.

n his desperation to appease his shrinking "base," Gov. Northam recently proposed a number of so-called "common sense" gun-control measures – none of which would have prevented the recent Virginia Beach shooting.

On July 9, in less than two hours after the General Assembly special session ordered by Gov. Northam to pass more gun control bills, the assembly adjourned to allow the state's bipartisan crime commission to study proposals that might have prevented the shooting.

Over the weekend, former NRA President Marion Hammer sent a private email to board members telling them to fall in line or face the consequences.

Hammer’s letter, previously only reported within the firearms blogosphere, is an apparent response to a number of board members who have posted publicly that they have faced retaliation for questioning alleged financial malfeasance in the organization. Hammer wrote that stripping the assignments was a punishment for ongoing “agitation” that has taken place outside of the “appropriate setting.”

Gun laws don't work

Murder has always been illegal and some think that a person who would murder someone would say to themselves “I cannot buy this gun off the street or have it in my possession because it is illegal,” that defies all common sense.

New gun laws may be enacted and some may feel safer, but if disease were made illegal some would also feel safer because naive people think the government can protect them. In the end, you are your own protector. I wish Katherine Nixon, rule following honest citizen, had taken her gun to work May 31 like she wanted to in violation of the “no guns at work policy.” If she had she may very well be alive today.

“It is our hope that the court will stop the illegal mistreatment of an already heavily regulated market, by a law that will not protect public safety or reduce crime," said prominent Second Amendment lawyer David Sigale, who is the lead plaintiff’s attorney in the case. "Rather, the law only serves to put lawful businesses out of business, and imposes hardship and arbitrary standards on those that remain.”

Bill sponsor state Rep. Kathleen Willis, D-Addison, said the fingerprint requirement doesn't violate the Second Amendment.

“In the [U.S. Supreme Court case McDonald v. City of Chicago] it states in the majority opinion, the state and local government can experiment with reasonable firearm regulations,” Willis said in floor debate.

The Bloomberg funded “Oregonians For Safe Gun Storage” is back with another effort to force you to keep your self defense firearm locked up and useless.

Ballot measure 2020-040 is a rehash of all the dangerous and vindictive language we have seen in previous ballot measures and failed legislation.

The measure not only requires that your self defense firearms be rendered useless but it also, (once again) holds you responsible for the criminal misuse of a firearm stolen from you.

John Lott has written that minorities in high crime urban neighborhoods benefit the most from an increase in concealed carry permits. Maybe Representative Ford has read some of John Lott's research. Maybe it is a classic case of a liberal changing their view when confronted with reality.

Welcome to the party, Representative Ford.

The website, which covers firearms and ammunition, among other topics, noted that YouTube has been making decisions to remove from its ad revenue Partner Program even those channels who have not breached the platform's terms of service.

Sounds familiar? It has been a recurring story these last months, with US and other creators, most often of conservative political persuasion, falling victim to “adpocalypse” – when YouTube removes their ability to monetize their work, without outright banning them from the platform.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
What is ominous is the ease with which some people go from saying that they don't like something to saying that the government should forbid it. When you go down that road, don't expect freedom to survive very long. — Thomas Sowell
