~NEVER THOUGHT WE'D SEE THIS!
"...work on the Democrats' document has just begun. ..it would include language supporting gun rights..."
McAuliffe, in his remarks to the DLC conference, agreed that it was important for the Democratic Party to get the gun issue "right."
Democrats should "promote responsible gun ownership rather than pushing for sweeping national gun control legislation that raises the specter of an ultimate ban on private gun ownership," DLC leaders wrote in a new report. |

Ambassador Camilo Reyes is expected to announce a so-called "program of action," the conference's final document, which UN officials say is intended to serve as a framework for international cooperation to curb the "illicit arms trade". Negotiations on framing the document have been underway since Monday, behind closed doors. |

"Our (conference) positions are a reflection of our existing law and regulations. The United States like many other nations represented here has a well-established set of laws, regulations and procedures and these are the result of a democratic process. The venue for considering any changes to those is in Washington." --Assistant Secretary of State Lincoln Bloomfield, at a news briefing at United Nations headquarters. |

This is a story about a New Zealand man with serious anger management problems. Sounds like he took a minor traffic problem way too far.
But we find this little tidbit in the story: "The man was charged with unlawfully possessing an airgun, presenting a firearm, possessing an offensive weapon, threatening behaviour and drink-driving."
And that could be America's future if more people don't get busy for Liberty. |

A group of 58 organizations oppose the McCain-Lieberman gun show bill (S.890), warning that the bill would "open more loopholes than it would close."
The groups include: Consumer Federation of America, Violence Policy Center, Children's Defense Fund, Physicians for Social Responsibility, National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives, and the National Network to End Domestic Violence.
KABA NOTE: These organizations instead support the Gun Show Background Check Act (S.767), sponsored by Senator Jack Reed (D-RI).
Among the 58, there are several "religious", police, and "humanitarian" organizations who think that you should not be allowed to decide for yourself to buy a firearm. They are also claiming to speak for "all" their members. If you are a member, contact your local office and let them know you are NOT spoken for! |

"The rush of applicants newly eligible for concealed weapons permits has created a bottleneck in the fingerprint office of the Wayne County Sheriff's Department, with fingerprint appointments being scheduled into January.
The delay has some applicants steaming, because they view it as an attempt by Sheriff Robert Ficano to block implementation of a law he opposed." |

Legislation pending in the NC state House of Representatives would allow some gun dealers, including Jim's Gun Jobbery and Pawn Shop in Fayetteville, to legally install deadbolts on all their doors.
Jim Faircloth, owner of Jim’s Gun Jobbery, has filed a lawsuit against the city because it made him remove deadbolts from one of the doors to his business. City fire inspectors told him the deadbolts were illegal under the state’s fire codes. |
