... "I’ve run into this Comey character before—he’s the one who said pump action shotguns were 'assault weapons,' so I guess it’s no surprise that now he’s telling us that semiauto MAC-10 variants are 'street sweepers.' And I also note he’s getting press for this 'buyback' with Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah T. Healey, another of Bloomberg’s criminal Mayors Against Guns who obstructed justice, resisted arrest, was nude and drinking on his porch, engaged in disorderly conduct..." ...

"Take a famous New York Chef, give him a hit TV show on the Travel Channel, send him and his crew out to the Ozarks, and what happens?"

"He gets all gun nutty."

"First he cleans a squirrel and eats squirrel pot pie and some bow hunt venison. Then he goes gigging for fish, which turns out to be more dangerous than hunting. Then there is an unsuccessful raccoon hunt. Duck hunting and duck cooking. And finally, just because that is not enough, some tin cans get shot to end the show." ...

"As I've mentioned here before, I was a professional musician long before I was a shooter. ... As such, I make a part of my daily bread with my ears. And just like a dancer that needs to protect their legs or a visual artist that needs to protect their eyes, I’m fairly fanatical on protecting my ears. In fact, I carry a pair of hi-tech earplugs with me just about all the time. Unfortunately, last Saturday night, I forgot them. And that was the night I attended the reunion of a local 60s band at a downtown night spot. From 9PM ’til almost 1AM, I was in a relatively small, enclosed space, getting bombarded with loud noises. And the result of my little adventure got me to thinking about shooting and ear protection." ...

"I’ll be the last person to claim that I'm a ballistics expert or some brilliant physics engineer who knows the ins and outs of ammunition design. However, I don't own a TV (haven't owned one in 10 years) and when I'm not training or shooting or spending quality time with the wife, I'm reading up on various aspects of personal protection."

"And this includes ammunition information which is a deathly boring (but important) topic. And to save you the pain and suffering I've gone through reading boring books and articles about self-defense ammo, here's what you need to know in a nutshell." ...

"We've talked here before about the 'guns on campus' issue. Adults in the higher education environment do so (or want to) primarily for two reasons: a hedge against 'school shooting' horrors, and for routine protection against muggers, rapists, etc. who consider 'gun free zones' to be safe game preserves in which to hunt human victims."

"Here, however, is a third good reason. It comes verbatim from one of my graduates, who spends his days at a major institution of higher education as a grad student and researcher, in a letter he sent to a state senator:" ...

"Barner protected at least ten lives when he intervened and stopped two armed assailants during an attempted robbery and then provided immediate medical assistance by applying tourniquets to one of the gun shot wounded victims."

"The incident made national headlines, and sparked calls for legalizing concealed carry on college campuses. A BuckeyeFirearms.org article about Barner's actions, and lamenting the fact that Ohio's college students are not allowed to exercise their Second Amendment rights, became one of the most-read articles in BFA history." ...

"Most of the larger national media outlets are doing their best to ignore the Gunwalker scandal ... Those who know about the outrageous project should be demanding answers and accountability."

"The recent hearings in the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, chaired by Rep. Darrel Issa (R-CA), showed clearly that agents of the ATF and other agencies, working with the approval from the highest levels of the Department of Justice ... actively conspired and facilitated the sale of some 2000 or more rifles to suspected illegal firearms traffickers and then intentionally allowed those guns to continue in illicit channels with no attempt to track, interdict, or disable them. ..." ...

Submitter's Note: "No further infringements!" What a ringing endorsement of Second Amendment freedoms. But what would you expect from a Governor who signed a 'shall-issue' permit to carry law, then refused to direct the Department of Public Safety obey the law's plain requirements for recognizing permits from other states (reciprocity). Even after promising the Gun Owners' Civil Rights Alliance leadership that he would fix the problem in return for their support in his 2008 re-election bid.

"The administration’s decision, supposedly aimed at the trafficking of U.S. firearms to Mexican drug cartels, follows findings by Congress that the BATFE, in 'Operation Fast and Furious,' knowingly allowed straw purchasers to buy five, 10 or 20 firearms in single transactions and transfer them to higher-level gun traffickers working for the cartels. Disapproving of the new sales reporting scheme, House Judiciary Chairman Lamar Smith (R-Texas) said 'It is the height of hypocrisy for the Obama administration to restrict the gun rights of border state citizens, when the administration itself knowingly and intentionally allowed guns to be trafficked into Mexico.'" ...
