South Dakota recently became the latest state to allow concealed weapons to be carried without a permit. Until July 1 of this year, South Dakota was a “shall issue” state for concealed carry. That meant citizens of the state were required to have a license to carry a concealed weapon. But now it’s legal to carry a concealed weapon without a permit. |

Last week’s Pennsylvania Supreme Court decision upholding Pittsburgh’s paid sick leave ordinance provided some hope that the justices could rule in the city’s favor if called on to decide its controversial firearms regulations, officials said. Justices were split 4-3 in allowing the paid sick leave ordinance to stand. Four of the seven-member court’s five Democrats voted to uphold the ordinance. Justice Max Baer, a Democrat, joined the court’s two Republicans — Chief Justice Thomas G. Saylor and Justice Sallie Mundy — in dissenting.

The Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission has unanimously approved a multiyear expansion of the Public Access Program, which provides limited, seasonal hunting and fishing opportunities on Colorado trust land across the state. The vote is the first step in a multiyear effort to double the size of the program from 480,000 acres — the majority of which are in northwestern Colorado, where there is prime big-game hunting — to nearly 1 million acres. |

Sometimes it seems nobody really likes the .223 Remington. Ever since the inception of the AR15 60 years ago, this little round has been under a magnifying glass. It honestly isn’t so bad, especially not for the uses most of us request from our AR-platform firearms. However, your AR15 doesn’t have to be .223! There are so many choices now. I’ll confine this bit here to a scant few of the most popular and, I think, also those having the greatest capacity to redefine — or at least re-purpose — an AR15.

A few months ago, we told you about a “three-pronged attack” on the Second Amendment by the CEO of Levi Strauss, Chip Bergh, who has been using company profits to break his oath to the Constitution of the USA. Well, they’re sticking to the plan, according to a recent article by AWR Hawkins. Hawkins reports that even when faced with information that their anti-gun actions were costing them business, Levi’s executives simply don’t care. |

You’ve probably seen that NRATV, which began its life as NRA News back in 2004, ceased production at the end of June. The end of NRATV is fallout from the legal battle between the National Rifle Association and its longtime public relations firm, Ackerman McQueen. The public fight, featuring accusations and counter-accusations about wasteful spending and self-dealing, led to the NRA ending its partnership with Ackerman McQueen. With the NRA no longer paying fo\r production of the shows, Ackerman McQueen ended production. |

Buried 46 paragraphs into a Saturday report posted by CNN that details the cable news network’s perspective on the current chaos swirling around the National Rifle Association is a statement by the head of the nation’s wealthiest gun prohibition lobbying group that should put gun owners on full alert.
The quote is from John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety, the Michael Bloomberg-supported organization that has weaponized its progenitor’s wealth in the crusade to what critics believe is the unilateral disarmament of law-abiding American gun owners.

Most of us whom are serious about self-defense have a handgun prepped and ready around the house, in the car or on our person. Many I know also keep a good shotgun at the ready. But fewer folks seem to consider the defensive carbine for home and vehicle defense. There may of course be some legal issues to contend with these days (imagine that) while carrying any firearm in your car (know your state and local laws). Fortunately, I live where carry of a firearm in a vehicle is not a legal concern and therefore routinely have a carbine readily accessible in my car and home at all times.

The Trophy Bonded Tip bullet is used in a few Federal Premium Ammunition lines – the Trophy Bonded Bear Claw, Trophy Bonded Sledgehammer Solid, and the Trophy Copper. While each of these ammo lines differs slightly, there’s one thing they all have in common, and that’s the tip.
This bullet and its tip were created for one purpose – to take down large, thick-skinned animals (we’re talking African game). These bullets have great features that enable massive penetration and expansion, like a large and very accurate hollow point.

Gun rights supporters in the Michigan House are working to decriminalize certain firearm-related offenses as part of a larger effort to roll back regulations on gun ownership and use in the state.
House Republicans named protecting second amendment rights as one of its top priorities this session. So far, many of the gun-related bills taken up for hearings focus on reducing existing penalties for violating Michigan’s current gun laws or removing restrictions on certain gun use.
In the House, legislation that would decrease the punishment for carrying a concealed pistol with an expired license from a felony punishable by up to five years’ imprisonment, a $2,500 fine or both to a civil fine of $330 if the license had lapsed... |
