"The Supreme Court finally bit the bullet, ruling on the good old Second Amendment for the first time since the Dirty Thirties. Wow! 'The people' have an individual right to keep and bear arms?!? One needn’t be enlisted in either the National Guard or Militia of Montana?!? Shazam! Handsprings and cartwheels!"
"While some pundits feel gun control has been defused as a political bomb, I disagree – gladly."
"First, the 157-page ruling, over half of which was dissent, is basically the two sides shouting past each other. Whether you see the warring opinions as holy writ or blasphemy depends on if your rifling twists right – or left."

I will be dedicating 'Absolved' to "Waco Jim" Cavanaugh and Jody Keeku of the ATF, the blundering, deadly yet unintended inspiration for all my work. . Whether my novel is a prescient glimpse into a bloody future or a "useful dire warning" that is heeded, is entirely up to the likes of them and the corrupt politicians who hold their leashes. It is they who by their conduct will absolve us of any further obedience to an oppressive regime. And as I point out in 'Absolved,' if the law no longer protects us, then they will find to their sorrow it does not protect them either. The choice is theirs. . As Ho Chi Minh once observed, "Cherish your enemies, they teach you the best lessons." I hope they understand that before it is too late.

"Stephen Scherer fired his final shot at the Olympic trials in March, lowered his rifle, and smiled. There was no fist pumping, no chest thumping when he won the 10-meter air rifle competition and a berth on the US Olympic team bound for Beijing. Just a shy, slightly self-conscious smile. It was the first and only emotion Scherer showed during three pressure-packed days in Colorado Springs. If I could only have one firearm it would be the 12 gauge pump action shotgun. Most folks would say the .22 LR because of cheap ammo prices and low report, and I will admit the little .22 is a good choice in many ways, but once you begin to put the subject into proper perspective the 12 gauge shotgun is more versatile for hunting and self-defense, becoming even more so when fitted with the right accessories."
