The 6mm ARC vs 6.5 Grendel is worthy of debate since both cartridges have the same parent cartridge.

Both were designed for the AR-15 platform for similar reasons, so which one does the job the best?

Choosing the Best Handgun Cartridge: Matching the Tool to the Job

The “best” handgun cartridge is subjective. How you intend to use your handgun is the biggest determinant of which cartridge you should choose. What works best for plinking cans off backyard fenceposts isn’t going to cut it for bear defense.

Last month we reported on a surprising fact check by CNN that sought to hold Joe Biden accountable for several false statements he made during an anti-gun speech in Connecticut. Yet perhaps even more shocking were recent articles at the anti-gun propaganda site The Trace that managed to deliver accurate and relevant information on firearm-related crime in America. At this point, it is too early to say whether the latter examples were editorial slip-ups or actual instances of journalistic integrity.

The latest celebrity to chime in on Jason Aldean's contentious single 'Try That In A Small Town' is Ted Nugent, the self-proclaimed "Motor City Madman," who called the song's detractors "idiots" on Saturday, July 22. "I know there's a bunch of idiots out there, but you need to learn to get a kick out of the idiots. The idiots hate this Jason Aldean song because they hate when we push back against violence," he stated to Fox News.

Today, Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) and FPC Action Foundation (FPCAF) announced that the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has denied the federal government’s attempt to completely stay the district court’s decision in VanDerStok v. Garland, which vacated ATF’s unlawful “frame or receiver” rule. This decision, which the Fifth Circuit stayed for 10 days, prevents ATF from enforcing the rule’s “regulatory definitions of ‘frame or receiver’ and ‘firearm’ as applied to the Gun Control Act of 1968,” while allowing the (non-challenged) remainder of the rule to be enforced while ATF appeals the district court Order. The Fifth Circuit’s Order can be viewed at FPCLegal.org.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) claimed Sunday that there have been over 400 “mass shootings” in the United States thus far in 2023.

His claim was based on Gun Violence Archive’s misleading “mass shooting” data, as reported by ABC News. (Breitbart News pointed out that Forbes used the same misleading data, claiming over 400 “mass shootings” in the United States at this point in 2023 as well.)

If you are a parent, you are probably well aware of the constant worry we have for our children, not the least of which involves the possibility of violence. Little children must be in the constant care of adults, obviously, to protect them from a myriad of dangers, including violence. However, once a child is of considerable size, perhaps in the early teenage years or even the tween years, they likely need to start spreading their wings. A protective parent needs to walk the fine balance between safety and allowing a child some new-found independence.

A gun control bill before the Massachusetts legislature has a long-time self-defense trainer on edge, concerned that it will create daunting regulations for law-abiding firearm owners. "What the gun owners in this state need to know is that if this law passes, we are all in jeopardy of becoming criminals," Tom Cheffro, who owns Boston Firearms in Everett, Massachusetts, told Fox News.

In the twilight of last summer, just as I boarded a flight, I glanced down at my phone to see four missed calls from Frankie, a good friend in Los Angeles. I hurriedly called back. “He’s dead,” she shrieked. “He’s dead, and I need to learn to protect myself.”

Some rounds are faster. Many shoot flatter. Most reach out farther. Yet there are plenty of practical reasons why the .30-30 Winchester remains a steady seller some 125 years after its inception. While the round is known for its whitetail dominance in lever guns, believe it or not, our top choices are not all cowboy action guns. Here are the very best .30-30 firearms we’ve found, some old and out of production, others brand new, but all putting in work afield every single year.

The Shasta County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday will once again attempt to pass a Second Amendment resolution, five months after the board deadlocked, leaving the proposal's fate uncertain. Supervisors’ latest attempt to pass a resolution comes as the number of mass shootings in the United States so far this year has surpassed 400, which puts 2023 on a pace to eclipse 2022, when there were 647 mass shootings, according to the Gun Violence Archive.

Over the past year, several domestic shipping companies have chosen to prohibit the shipment of firearms, firearm parts, and ammunition. These decisions violate the Second Amendment and discriminate against law-abiding Americans' right to keep and bear arms. U.S. Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL), Mike Crapo (R-ID), and colleagues sent a letter to the CEOs of DHL, XPO Logistics, and Saia demanding answers for the companies’ decision to enact anti-Second Amendment policies. The letter further makes clear that Congress, not freight companies, are responsible for enacting Second Amendment-related policies.

Glock 22: Is .40 S&W a Dead Cartridge or Still Relevant? (Ballistic Test)

I remember a time when folks routinely bragged that their go-to concealed carry gun was chambered in .40 S&W, and I’ve met plenty of law enforcement officers who were issued pistols in the same caliber over the years. But it seems like the chatter about .40 S&W is all but gone these days. In fact, over the last year, I have met only one shooter who routinely carries a Glock 22, specifically for the hard-hitting .40 S&W round it’s designed to shoot.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom of Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any bands of regular troops that can be, on any pretense, raised in the United States. — Noah Webster in "An Examination into the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution," 1787, in Paul Ford, ed., Pamphlets on the Constitution of the United States, at p. 56 (New York, 1888).
