The 458 SOCOM and 300 AAC Blackout are two centerfire cartridges developed to increase the stopping power of the AR-15 platform. Both rounds were designed to work in a short barreled rifle (SBR) with a suppressor.
Adapting new cartridges to the AR-15 is nothing new, as the 6.5 Grendel, 6.8 SPC, and 224 Valkyrie have all been moderately successful. But none of these rounds can compare to the raw power that the heavier bullets of the 300 Blackout (BLK for short) and 458 SOCOM can bring to bear. |

Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) introduced legislation on Monday designed to simplify the purchase rules related to firearm suppressors.
Currently, firearm suppressors are under the purview of the National Firearms Act (NFA) (1934), which means would-be purchasers have to be fingerprinted and photographed and pay the federal government $200 for a tax stamp allowing them to possess an NFA item.

Looking for the best 22 WMR ammo for your varmint-slaying rifles or self-defense handguns? Well, you’ve found the right article.
The 22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire (22 WMR) or “22 Mag” offers shooters and hunters increased power and more range than the 22 Long Rifle (22LR) could ever hope to achieve. This makes the 22 WMR incredibly popular for pest control while still being cheap enough for plinking and general target shooting. |

Since President Joe Biden unceremoniously dropped out, or was forced out, of the 2024 presidential race July 21, Vice President Kamala Harris has been effectively coronated as the Democratic presidential nominee. Gun owners should understand that Harris poses the gravest threat to their Second Amendment rights. In fact, Harris’ record suggests that she does not believe the Second Amendment protects an individual right to keep and bear arms at all. Moreover, Harris has repeatedly called for government confiscation of some of America’s most popular firearms. |

The Garden State’s ban on AR-15 rifles is unconstitutional. That’s the finding District Court Judge Peter Sheridan handed down on Tuesday. He ruled the state’s ban on the popular rifles is incompatible with the Second Amendment under the Supreme Court’s most recent precedents. However, he found the opposite was true of the state’s ban on possession of “Large Capacity Magazines (LCMs)” capable of holding more than 10 rounds of ammunition. |

KDH (presumptive 2024 Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris) has wasted no time in promoting her fanatical anti-Second Amendment stance. Also, she obviously has no use for, nor empathy with, capitalists (“kulaks” in Communist jargon) and the entire private-sector economy (of course, she has never been part of the private-sector economy). |

The Idaho Fish and Game Commission recently approved a new six-year elk management plan after staff solicited public review and adapted the draft plan to reflect public input. The updated elk plan is not a complete overhaul of the former management plan. The department and Commission retained the framework of Idaho’s elk hunting, which is 28 elk hunting zones with the A/B tag system, and a mix of general and controlled hunts. |
