"As RF highlighted earlier today, Former Rep. Gabby Giffords and hubby Mark Kelly kicked off their 'Rights and Responsibilities' road show by visiting a pistol range in Las Vegas. But before hitting the road, Mr. Giffords Kelly stopped by CNN ... When asked point blank if 'any of those steps [in his gun control plan] would have stopped what happened in [insert site of shooting here]' he said that, 'maybe, absolutely' they quite possibly could have perhaps made a difference. He wants to expand background checks and make sure that the mentally ill are included in the NICS system. I wonder if that would extend to those with brain damage who can hardly point a gun to fire it? (Oh no he di’n't!) Continuing in the background . . ." ...

"On Independence Day, it is worth noting that some of the shrillest voices for 'gun control' are, their efforts to deceive on the matter notwithstanding, less opposed to guns, or even 'gun violence,' than they are to the independence of an armed citizenry. Sure, they claim to support 'Independence from Gun Violence,' but the reality is that 'gun violence' is precisely what they depend on, in order to exploit the public outrage, for the advancement of their forcible citizen disarmament agenda." ...

"The newly-formed American Rifle and Pistol Association (ARPA) will officially launch on July 4, but already skeptics are wondering if this organization is not just a new incarnation of the American Hunters and Shooters Association (AHSA), which turned out to be a front group for Democrats and soon vanished after the 2008 elections." ...

"If there’s one word that I would use to describe the typical long range rifle, it’s 'massive.' Long, heavy rifles with thick barrels that barely fit in the back of a pickup truck. In fact, some of them might be closer to field artillery than rifles. But while they may be accurate at long distance, maneuverability isn’t a feature they have in their repertoire. Desert Tactical Arms saw a need for a maneuverable precision rifle. And to get it done without sacrificing barrel length, they designed a bullpup style gun to make it all possible . . ." ...

Who dat? 'None of the members of the leadership team are representatives, agents, or employees of the firearms manufacturing industry in any way; nor do they claim to be firearms experts of any kind ...' Admitted to the union on July 3, 1890 – barely seven months after Washington’s statehood on Nov. 11, 1889 – Idaho is home to some of the best hunting and fishing on the map, including elk, whitetail and mule deer, black bear, mountain lion, pronghorn and gray wolf hunting, plus mackinaw, trout, pike, bass, salmon and steelhead fishing. There are permit hunts for moose, sheep and mountain goat, as well." ...

"Are cops constitutional?

In a 2001 article for the Seton Hall Constitutional Law Journal, the legal scholar and civil liberties activist Roger Roots posed just that question. Roots, a fairly radical libertarian, believes that the U.S. Constitution doesn’t allow for police as they exist today. At the very least, he argues, police departments, powers and practices today violate the document’s spirit and intent. 'Under the criminal justice model known to the framers, professional police officers were unknown,' Roots writes." ...

"Talk about idiotic anti gun people. The IL Governor seems to think that by passing a law limiting legal ccw permit holders to only one gun, it will prevent murder’s from killing more people. I can see it now. A mass murder prepares for his grisly task but remembers that it is illegal to carry more than one gun, so he leaves the rest of them behind not wishing to be in violation of the law. This is what happens when politicians get involved in matters that they are clueless about. Much like Governor Cuomo in NY when he thought that you could simply buy some 7 round magazines for any gun you happen to own." ...

"July 03, 2013 - No matter how they try, the Prosecutor's witnesses mess up and make it look good for the defense. As we saw in the OJ and other high profile trails, despite best practices being known, it appears that people that handle evidence do not do so like they do on CSI. How about scrapings from each hand labeled, "finger nail - left hand". How is anyone supposed to know which fingernail it came from. Perhaps, as the lab tech who had a great haircut and beard trim said, they used the same stick on every fingernail on the hand. Wouldn't that sort of contaminate the evidence as it would make it impossible to tell which fingernail the evidence came from. ..." ...
