All modern metallic cartridges consist of a brass case that contains gunpowder capped off with a bullet. Rimfire and centerfire cartridges are both metallic cartridges; the difference is in how they are primed. A centerfire cartridge has a primer that’s inserted into a hole in the base of the brass cartridge. With rimfire ammunition, the chemical priming compound is distributed within the hollow of the rim of the cartridge case.

Acting Baltimore Police Commissioner Rich Worley indicated there were Americans celebrated their Second Amendment rights over 1 million times in June, the 47th straight month of record-setting gun sales. According to the FBI, background checks for gun purchases passed 1 million last month. |

Another swing and a miss for the NRA and their high-priced attorneys at the Brewer law firm, this time in a motion to intervene in a case brought by Ranier Arms and the Second Amendment Foundation. This is just the latest in a long line of expensive failures for the NRA’s very expensive attorneys. |

“Today Governor Gavin Newsom proposed a 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution to enshrine fundamental, broadly supported gun safety measures into law,” a press release from his office announced Thursday. “While leaving the 2nd Amendment unchanged and respecting America’s gun-owning tradition, the Governor’s proposal guarantees common sense constitutional protections and gun safety measures that Democrats, Republicans, independent voters, and gun owners overwhelmingly support – including universal background checks, raising the firearm purchase age to 21, instituting a firearm purchase waiting period, and barring the civilian purchase of assault weapons.” |

President Joe Biden on Tuesday again called for stricter gun control, including a ban on semi-automatic rifles, after several deadly “tragic and senseless shootings” leading up to the July Fourth holiday. At least 10 people were killed in mass shootings in Baltimore Philadelphia, and Fort Worth, Texas. The incidents — as well as others in Wichita, Kansas, and Lansing, Michigan — left dozens of others injured.
