"Some psychiatrists have described gun control as a betrayal of an underlying neurosis; there’s even a name for it: Hoplophobia. But I see gun control as a much larger dynamic with broader implications for the nation beyond any single issue." ...

"The angry who continue to dwell on their traumas have been and are called today, injustice collectors. The name is as it implies."

"Recent Internet alerts and postal mailings from Gun Owners Of America (www.gunowners.org), of which I am a proud member, warns its members of yet another gun grabbing attempt by the United Nations (UN). Battles are brewing in both chambers of the Congress over this matter, with the usual suspects lining up on the usual respective pro and con sides of the issue."

"Today ... the evil, corrupt and inept UN is currently convening to grab our guns."

"The UN’s International Network on Small Arms (IANSA) is aggressively seeking mandatory registration and licensing, prohibition of ownership of certain types of military style rifles, and mandatory lock-up of firearms. These are dangerous proposals." ...

"...I wish the system adopted with a few alterations....I shall consider the duration of our governments, and the liberties of this people, very much dependent on the administration of the general government. A wise and honest administration, may make the people happy under any government; but necessity only can justify even our leaving open avenues to the abuse of power, by wicked, unthinking, or ambitious men...."

"...It is true, the yeomanry of the country possess the lands, the weight of property, possess arms, and are too strong a body of men to be openly offended—and, therefore, it is urged, they will take care of themselves, that men who shall govern will not dare pay any disrespect to their opinions..."

"Our city is in crisis. Nightly, we hear news of another shooting, another drive-by hit, another homicide. Yet what do our local elected leaders tell us? The answer to this barrage of murder, robbery, and home invasion is to take the guns off the streets. The politicians have several strategies: They have tried buy-back programs, gun confiscation without prosecution, and forcing me, the only gun dealer in the Twin Cities, out of business."

"Even though Minnesota allows concealed carry by reputable citizens, Minneapolis is left with a populace of honest, law-abiding people who can't protect themselves; they can't legally buy a gun or ammunition anywhere in the city. ..." ...
