"While DefenseReview was at NDIA Small Arms Symposium 2007, we ran into a very friendly and enthusiastic gentleman named Gil Elharar, who works for an Israeli company called North East Technologies, Ltd. (NET). Gil showed us a developmental prototype (functional prototype) of a very interesting and somwhat revolutionary combat pistol sighting system. Instead of utilizing the standard front-and-rear sight setup, the NET tactical pistol sight is a one-piece elongated rear sight comprised of a red fiber optic sight housed inside a lightweight polymer and extruded aluminum case. The prototype sight we saw was mounted on a blue (i.e. inert) Glock 17 (G17) training simulator weapon." ...

"Like Ronald Reagan would say, 'Well, there he goes again!' ... Mayor Brainard has done it again by attempting to diffuse criticism regarding a highly controversial issue of gun control."

"After so heavily orchestrating his endorsement of the Bloomberg anti-gun proposal, the mayor apparently has seen the light, given the obvious citizen backlash. ..."

"With crime incidents continuing to rise, the mayor originally turned his back on a basic Republican position of ensuring, for all citizens, the right to bear arms. "Falmouth, MA, Police Chief David Cusolito is out of a job. Since becoming Falmouth’s Chief of Police in 1997, Cusolito has continuously been in the news because of his reported hostile attitude towards the public's right to self-defense and his general antipathy to citizens' gun rights. His tenure has been marked by an ongoing controversy regarding firearms use and ownership -- even by his own police officers. In one case, he demanded that all sworn town police officers also obtain a state civilian license to carry firearms before he would allow them to carry weapons in the line of duty. Cusolito said he was asserting his authority to continue the policy that required all officers to have a state-issued license to carry a firearm. ..." ...

"MSP has quietly notified dealers around the state that new restrictions on purchase of regulated firearms (handguns and select long guns) will take effect on August 1. Starting that date, any application to purchase such firearms will be administratively denied if it does not contain a release authorizing police to access medical records which may be on file at any state agency – or at any agency anywhere – in order to decide if the applicant is eligible to possess a gun. MSP will now assess your mental health when it decides whether to approve your purchase." ...

"Consequently, the present step represents a vast police overreach clearly intended to increase barriers to lawful gun ownership. Information which MSP may request from an applicant is specific and defined in law. The new policy goes far beyond what the law defines, and it lacks any legal authority. ..." ...

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
America does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She well knows that by one enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standards of freedom. — JOHN QUINCY ADAMS (1821)
