Mexico saw a record number of murders in the first six months of the year, with an average 94 killings each day, according to the Mexico News Daily.

The news outlet, citing figures from the Secretariat of Security and Citizens Protection, noted that June saw the most murders of any month on record, with more than 3,000 people killed.

Submitter's note: How can the anti-gun liberals ignore this? Mexico has most of the restrictions on private gun ownership that they are pushing for.

Elizabeth Hokoana, who defense attorney Steven Wells said routinely carried a handgun for self-defense and was licensed and trained in its use, will testify that she shot 35-year-old avowed anarchist Joshua Phelan Dukes, who was armed with a knife, at point-blank range when he grabbed her husband.

“She will testify that if she didn’t pull that trigger, her husband would be gutted,” an emotional Wells told the jury.

Police say the teen walked up to the stand and started demanding money.

When an employee brought out the cash, the would-be robber put his gun down on the counter so he could pick up the money.

That's when another employee grabbed the gun and shot the guy in the face.

Commissioners in Rutherford County, North Carolina, have taken a stand for the right to bear arms, declaring the county a Second Amendment sanctuary.

The resolution has no governing power, but it’s a public statement commissioners think represents the voice of the voters who voted them into office. The move is meant to push back against any potential federal gun control.

You’ll notice that I didn’t say, “Happy Fourth of July.” I much prefer Happy Independence Day because it reminds me of what the day really stands for. But it is certainly a day to spend picnicking, barbecuing, attending a rodeo or baseball game, popping fireworks or just spending time with friends and family. I just hope that each of you will take a moment to reflect on the reason for the holiday.

Kentuckians are no longer compelled to pay a tax in order to fully exercise their Second Amendment right to bear arms; and everything will be just fine. The tired "Blood in the streets" myths never come true.

The most commonly mentioned reason for obtaining or maintaining a carry permit is it will still be required in order for you to legally carry a concealed handgun in other recognizing states. Another often overlooked fact is a Kentucky resident must have a valid Kentucky CCDW Permit so as not to be in violation of the federal Gun-Free Schools Act of 1990 (GFSZA) while in possession of a firearm at or near school zones.

There was little unusual about this evening in the Khachaturyan household, according to court records, except for one thing: The sisters decided they couldn't take the violence and abuse anymore. They waited until their father fell asleep in his rocking chair and attacked him with a kitchen knife and a hammer. He put up a fight, but died within minutes.

Virginia Senator Dick Black has been working with Virginia Citizens Defense League (EM Hal Macklin and me ) in drafting a bill that allows local government employees to be able to carry concealed at work if they have a Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP).

The bill is now complete and ready to be introduced shortly! Senator Black's bill, if it had been law earlier this year, would have definitely saved lives during the Virginia Beach massacre. And that's if the massacre was even attempted in the first place, with the murderer knowing that there were lots of armed employees in Building #2.

California's new ammunition background check law began Monday not with a bang but with a whimper from dealers who reported delays and glitches with the state's online system.

But they said few customers were affected because most had stockpiled bullets or shotgun shells in the weeks before the new law took effect.

Christian pseudo-historian David Barton has always twisted and distorted the words of the Founding Fathers in defense of Christian Nationalism. More recently, he’s said church/state separation means Christians shouldn’t have to pay taxes.

His latest argument is that the Second Amendment gives all citizens the right to own whatever weapons the government has. Any of them. All of them. Even tanks.

State lawmakers are considering a bill that would allow Ohioans to carry firearms without the need to obtain a concealed weapons license.

House Bill 178 would extend to Ohio residents who are at least 21 years old and federal law does not prohibit them from having a firearm. It does not apply to any so-called “restricted deadly weapon,” which includes various military-style arms.

Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty or safety. Nor, are they likely to end up with either. — Benjamin Franklin
