"This is getting ridiculous. While it may come as no surprise to most, the Australian Government was forced to admit this week that their recent attempted gun grab has been in the works secretly for over a decade, thanks in part to documents from the Firearms Policy Working Group meetings. The arrival of the Akkar Mammut 'triple threat' shotgun, pricey but popular with Aussie shooters, expedited this gun grab. Because, apparently, one extra barrel equals child-killing death machine assault gun . . ." ...

"Indiana County man dies when gun discharges in apparent accident the headline at post-gazette.com proclaims. Condolences to the family and all, but at least the gun discharged itself accidentally, rather that intentionally. The truth? 'Allen J. Troyer, 21, grabbed a black powder revolver [not shown] that his 12-year-old cousin was holding, and the gun discharged around 9:30 p.m at Whitaker Road in Smicksburg, according to the Indiana County coroner.' "I was sitting at my computer earlier today. My two year-old asked to sit with me – on my lap. It’s a little painful to have a child sitting on my lap when I have my gun in the appendix carry position. So I removed my XD and put it well out of his reach. I sat down, picked up my boy and put him on my lap. After about 30 minutes playing together on my computer it was time to go for a cheeseburger in town and pick up my daughter from school . . ." ...

"I recently ran a quote of the day from the Boston Globe based on their editorial Close loopholes on existing gun background checks. In it, the anti-ballistic Boston burghers assert that 'Gun control advocates point out that 40 percent of all gun sales are exempt from background checks because the seller is a private party operating online or at gun shows.' This is a lie, perpetuated by the anti-gunners to justify gun control legislation for legal gun buyers. I know of two studies on the subject. The first was published in 1984 by James D. Wright and Peter H. Rossi, who interviewed roughly 600 felons who admitted to committing a crime with a firearm. The majority of them got their firearms through . . ." ...

I had plenty of support from my family, friends, and girlfriend, but I still felt lost. I needed an outlet; I needed something more than what my life already offered me. I needed to find a way to change even a little aspect and to keep my mind busy with something new. So what did I do? "The NRA tip above – keep a shooting diary – doesn’t mention the purpose of the exercise: CYA. If you’re ever involved in a defensive gun use (DGU), you could be subject to intense prosecutorial scrutiny. "Comedian Amy Schumer is the hot entertainer of the moment, but can that last when she’s already regurgitating hoary old ideas that weren’t so amusing the first time around?"

"Specifically, Schumer has teamed up with her cousin, the very un-funny Sen. Charles Schumer, to promote a rewarmed serving of gun control proposals that the lawmaker has been trying to inflict on the American public for years. The hook for the legislative repeat was a lethal shooting in Lafayette, Louisiana, during a showing of Amy Schumer’s Trainwreck. The shooter ... purchased his gun legally after passing a background check that failed to pick up his history of mental illness or arrest for arson. ..." ...

"On August 7, the Baltimore Sun ran a column ubiquitously examining the chasm between Americans who arm themselves for self-defense and Americans who do not."

"But on a deeper level, the column asserted that the meaning of the Second Amendment has been 'in dispute' for 'most of the nation’s history' and only came to be viewed as a protection of individual rights after the Supreme Court’s decision in District of Columbia v. Heller (2008)."

"This is the same argument that the LA Times put forth on May 22 and one which The New York Times as also been peddling since the Heller decision came down."

"According to the Sun, there are two separate America’s currently living side by side. One of those is armed, one is not." ...

"President John F. Kennedy was one of the most prominent we’ve had. He navigated us through the beginning of the Cold War, set us on course to head to the moon, and his assassination kicked off the gun control era that we are still fighting today. Like every red blooded American should, Kennedy purchased an M1 Garand back when he was still a senator. Kennedy’s M1 Garand – hand-picked and breathed on by Army gunsmiths – is coming up for auction over at the Rock Island Auction company. Expected sale price: about $100,000. "Oh, how they laughed when I schlepped a Smith & Wesson .460 snubby into the American outback, snug in a chest rig that looks more like bondage gear than a holster. So be it. It will suffice until Grizzly Custom Guns finishes my lever brush gun. Sure, bear spray is a proven deterrent and a lot less cumbersome. Yes, bears tend to leave bipeds alone. "The Seattle City Council voted unanimously to adopt a special gun and ammunition tax, and a stolen gun reporting requirement that opponents insist will violate state law, and with potential lawsuits on the horizon."

"Both measures passed after several members of the council commented on the need to prevent so-called "gun violence," without explaining how either measure would do that. The issue is almost certain to take the city back to court on the grounds of state preemption. Second Amendment activists are wondering what might be next from this anti-gun municipality." ...

"I'm sure the good little liberals in Seattle are proud of themselves. Of course, the people who the tax should apply to - violent criminals - won't pay a dime. Only law abiding residents will be hit with this ridiculous tax."

While LAPD represented to Mr. Wright that his firearms would eventually be returned if he complied with LAPD’s unlawful requests for proof of ownership, the City Attorney’s office surreptitiously applied for an ex parte order to destroy the collection, and the LAPD then did so without any notice to Mr. Wright." ...
