Republican lawmakers on the U.S. House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday warned federal gun regulators that a proposed new rule exceeds the agency's authority. Eight GOP members of the committee wrote Marvin Richardson, the acting director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, that the proposed new rule concerning the definition of a "frame" or "receiver" under federal law "is deeply flawed, beyond the scope of ATF’s authority, contrary to years of previous ATF opinions, and harmful to millions of law-abiding American firearm owners." |

Fusion is a line of ammunition from Federal Premium well known for deer hunting. The name comes from the fact that the jacket is electro-chemically fused with the lead core, so there is almost no chance of early separation. When these impact a target, the skived tip allows very good and consistent expansion, even at very long ranges. This line of ammo also has quite a variety of different sizes for hunting, from handgun to African game and everything in between.

Two on two: OK. Here’s the deal: We turned two of our sneakiest shootists — Mike Humphries and Roy Huntington — loose on two Ruger handguns. These were the SP101 5-shot .357 and the .380 “Anniversary” LCP. Whether you’re a wheelgun guy or an “auto addict,” both of them proved to be impressive CCW options. Read Roy’s take below on the LCP and Mike’s review of the SP101 here. |

Years later, I realized the long-recoil action of a Browning Auto 5 makes it feel like it’s bouncing on your shoulder when you shoot it. I didn’t notice at the time. I thought that’s what guns felt like, because the Auto 5 was the only gun I owned. It had been my dad’s gun, a Belgian-made Light 12 with blond wood and a vented adjustable Polychoke on the barrel. It was actually his second Auto-5. He dropped the first one over the side of boat and replaced it with this one. It survived him—not an easy feat for a gun—and when I started hunting in my early 20s, he passed the well-worn Browning on to me. |

But first, let’s talk about the manufacturer, Maxim Defense Industries. Maxim Defense started off as a manufacturer of firearms parts, but it made the decision to transition into firearms manufacturing. The PDX was one of the products born out of this transition. |
