"Dear Mr. Sullivan,"

"I have not heard from you or the ATF since our last communication. I have attempted several times on behalf of Historic Arms LLC (hereafter the Company) to speak with John Spencer, and left messages for him to call back."

"Your letter (3311/2008-642) of July 22, 2008 informs the Company that you were going to proceed with forfeiture proceedings. The Company asked that you proceed without delay."

"Before Laidlaw had joined up, the most Cathcart would have his people do was paintball. PAINTBALL, fer cryin' out loud. OK, maybe you got some phys ed out of it, but it taught all the wrong tactical lessons. People actually thought concealment was cover. Besides, what was cover for a paintball wouldn't even be noticed by a 5.56 or 7.62 NATO projectile on its way to rip out your guts or blow off your head."

"Monday August 18th will be the Grand Opening of Red's Trading Post at our new location at 203 5th Ave South in Twin Falls. There will be Free Food, Prizes and most importantly the reps from FNH USA will be here."

"Red’s Trading Post is Idaho’s Oldest Gun Shop and was started in 1936 by my Great Grandfather Lowell 'Red' Kinney, who after moving here from Dodge City, Kansas helped to complete the Sun Valley Lodge. Following this he bought up his coworkers tools and opened a pawn shop in Twin Falls, soon Red's became the place for hunters and gun enthusiasts to purchase firearms. In fact they boasted that we had 'One of the largest selections in Idaho' (Notice the number on their business card, simply 1397)." ...
-------

Submitter's Note: For those who don't remember, Red's is the gun shop that the BATFE tried to drive out of business for such egregious and 'willful' rules violations as answering 'N' instead of 'No', and having forms filed alphabetically within each month instead of strictly chronologically.

What price guns? Victims of violence

FULL TEXT BELOW:

David R. Sadler's response ["Amrhine's views on guns ill-informed," July 30] to Richard Amrhine's July 20 column has merit--most gun owners of this country would agree with it.

Most amendments of the Bill of Rights have a cost to allow each freedom that is guaranteed. Free speech tolerates hurtful ideas.

The issue is not if the gun was obtained legally or not. It is if we as a society are willing to sacrifice our family members to random acts of gun violence.

The Second Amendment's cost is that there are victims of gun violence. That is the price American society pays for that freedom.

For the families affected by gun violence, the price keeps increasing every year.

"Militias have been an important part of our national history. During our Colonial and Revolutionary War period, groups of volunteers bought their own guns and equipment and formed a citizen army to fight for independence from Great Britain."

"After the war the newly independent states were concerned that their militia members be able to keep their private arms in order to counter any oppression or tyranny from their new national government or any possible threat from a new standing army. Southern states had additional reasons for wanting armed militias to continue: as instruments to control their slave populations." ...

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
America does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all.
