"Bushmaster, a gun distributor and manufacturer that is charged with supplying the DC-area sniper suspects with their assault weapon, was denied its second plea for a dismissal in the sniper lawsuit. The decision was announced in a ruling by Judge Frank E. Cuthbertson of the Pierce County Superior Court in Tacoma, Washington, on August 11, 2003. The court refused to overturn its prior ruling where it held that based on plaintiffs' allegations, Bushmaster knew or should have known that Bull's Eye was a reckless and incompetent dealer. The case is presently set to go to trial next July." |

"To any devoted Liberal government is the one and only answer for everything. Self- defense and our inherent right to it are not conducive to being dependent on government. In the Liberal ideal the average person is better off being more dependent on the government. Anything that lessens our need on government therefore becomes the sworn enemy of liberalism." ...
"They want us to place our protection, as well as our other liberties, in their hands. In the world of Liberals violence is violence. If you kill in self-defense you have not done something just in the eyes of Liberalism. In their sight you are just as bad as the criminal who sought to harm you. This is the dream of the Liberal elites. A nation where everyone depends on government, a government controlled by Liberals, for all our needs. Especially self-defense!" |

"Europeans will soon consider a proposed constitution for the European Union that is very different from the U.S. Constitution. The United States is the oldest and largest surviving constitutional republic -- a nation that has experienced a larger increase in area, population, and income; absorbing people of more diverse racial, ethnic, and language backgrounds than any other contemporary nation. So Europeans are well advised to understand and consider those characteristics of the U.S. Constitution that provided the political and legal framework for the American success story."

Richmond Police Chief Andre Parker said he holds the community - not his police department - responsible for the city's high level of crime.
"Every community gets the type of law enforcement they deserve," he said, paraphrasing former U.S. Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy.
Parker called in last week to Michael Graham's afternoon radio show on WRVA (1140 AM) when Graham criticized the performance of the city police department, citing its failure to solve a "promiscuous shooting" the night before during a National Night Out event. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
America does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She well knows that by one enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standards of freedom. — JOHN QUINCY ADAMS (1821) |
