The assault stopped briefly, then began again. Grayson, who lawfully possessed a handgun, fired one shot, killing Wheeler.

Prosecutors say a fatal shooting in Connecticut last year was a case of self-defense and no charges have been filed.

State's Attorney David Shepack told the News-Times on Tuesday that Andre Edness' death in a Kent home in December "appeared to be a lawful exercise of self-defense."

State police investigated for more than six months before closing the case.

Within our current framework, the Judicial Crisis Network’s ads strike me as slick but entirely conventional in their blandness. But assuming that there’s still a line somewhere, I believe the National Rifle Association has crossed it with a commercial declaring that “President Trump chose Brett Kavanaugh to break the tie” between the “liberal justices” who “oppose your right to self-defense” and the “four justices” (who are seemingly without left-to-right ideology) who “support your right to self-defense.” The ad concludes: “Your right to self-defense depends on this vote. Tell your senator to defend our right to self-defense. Confirm Judge Kavanaugh.”

“We love responsible gun owners,” Rudolph said, claiming California’s new gun laws are making things “more dangerous” for those who follow the law.

“It’s kind of scary, how they are trying to get rid of more and more guns,” she said, citing how only 731 handgun models among the 3,500 on the market are on a state-approved roster. Rudolph said the year before 935 were on the roster.

The homeowner, 79, discovered an intruder inside his pole building at around 11:20 p.m. on Tuesday and grabbed a shotgun, according to a release from the department. He told the intruder to leave, and fired a single shot when the intruder reportedly approached him in a threatening manner.

NY: Cuomo administration shouldn’t put NRA on financial blacklist

Cuomo doesn't have much to say on the issue of foreign children who regularly die by missile and bomb in America's endless military engagements, but in the name of saving American lives he is presently attempting to weaponize New York's financial regulatory power against lawful political speech by the National Rifle Association. Cuomo’s attempt to stifle the NRA is as inappropriate and far outside his proper role as governor as interfering with U.S. efforts to aid its Middle Eastern client states would be. The only difference is that going after the NRA – unlike, say, defense contractors – is politically convenient for the governor.

Over the last few years, Ruger has done just about everything right with its LCR family of revolvers, and the level of excellence and practical thinking continues with the company’s “pocket rocket” chambered in .327 Fed. Mag. This newest hammerless “snubby” sports the standard 1 7⁄8-inch barrel and weighs 17 ounces. The weight gain of 3.5 ounces over the LCR chambered in .38 Spl. results from using a stainless steel frame rather than the aluminum-alloy frame of the .38 Spl, but the fluted cylinder helps keep weight to a minimum.

Michael Drejka was charged Monday with manslaughter after a 12-day investigation by Pinellas-Pasco State Attorney Bernie McCabe determined there is enough evidence to question his claim that he feared for his life when he shot and killed a man during an argument in a Clearwater parking lot.

"We have filed a formal charge, and he has been arrested, and he will now go through the court system," McCabe said in a statement.

George Young sued the state of Hawaii in 2012 after the state denied him a permit to carry a gun in public. Hawaii officials argued that the Second Amendment only guarantees the right to bear arms in ones home. They claimed that there is no inherent right to carry firearms outside one's house.

The three-judge panel was split on the decision but ruled in Young's favor.

Chairman Evan Young said State Representative Avery Bourne, who was in attendance at Tuesday's meeting, had come to the county asking them to place the question, "Should the Illinois General Assembly pass any additional legislation that restricts a citizen's ability to own and possess guns or firearms?" on the November ballot.

So, it’s not a party thing. It’s about an American thing. If we are going to believe in the values that were founded in this country. Now liberals will tell me, ‘Well Lawrence, it wasn’t founded for you! Like the Second Amendment is not for you!'”

“Well guess what? The Second Amendment is mine now, and I don’t intend on giving it back to you guys.”

Citizens will be barred from openly carrying firearms and other deadly weapons in Erie government buildings, the town‘s Board of Trustees voted Tuesday night.

The ordinance — a watered-down iteration of a previous proposal that would have extended the same prohibition across the town‘s open space and trails system — had rankled a portion of residents and Second Amendment advocates first spurned by Boulder‘s to ban the sale and possession of assault weapons, bump stocks and high-capacity magazines in the city.

Leaders approved the ordinance 5-2 with trustees Scott Charles and Dan Woog offering the sole “no” votes.

End of story, at least for Scalia, whose signature doctrine was “originalism” — that the Constitution and the laws mean only what those who drafted and enacted them intended at the time, regardless of later developments. But it’s just the beginning of the narrative in The Justice of Contradictions: Antonin Scalia and the Politics of Disruption, an absorbing new book by Richard L. Hasen, professor of law at the University of California, Irvine.

E-commerce giant Shopify has moved to ban certain firearms and parts on its platform, including some semi-automatic weapons and 3D-printed guns.

The Canadian-based company revised its Acceptable Use Policy earlier this week to ban a variety of firearms and gun-related products.

Semi-automatic firearms with magazines capable of holding more than 10 bullets, attachments such as bump stocks that can make guns fire more rapidly, firearms without serial numbers and 3D-printed guns are among some of the items that are now considered "restricted."
