Republicans on Capitol Hill are pushing the U.S. Department of Education to reevaluate its decision to pull funding from public schools for shooting sports and hunting programs because of new gun control legislation. The root of the issue is language in the mammoth "Bipartisan Safer Communities Act" which was rushed through Congress last year with a modicum of support from the GOP. Showing that Washington can get questionable legislation rushed into law in near-record time, it passed 65-33 in the Senate on a Thursday and 234-193 by the House by that Friday and was signed by President Biden on Saturday.

I’ve met lots of people who thought they had a simple solution that would always save our kids. My experience has been different. The more I learned the more there was to do.
Sure, some tools can help, but hardware performs no better than the skill of the person who is using the tool. Even given the limitations of our tools, it is still true that trained staff can be more effective at defending our kids if we give the defenders what they need.
Look past the hardware. |

After the U.S. Supreme Court issued its historic Bruen Decision, which obliterated most state restrictions on the public carrying of arms and changed forever how lower courts should decide Second Amendment-related challenges to anti-gun regulations, many blue states seemingly tried to outdo each other with the number of unconstitutional post-Bruen tantrum laws they could pass. At this, New Jersey certainly lead the way, especially for its residents seeking to carry a defensive firearm. |

October of the year preceding a national election may seem like a long way from November of next year. However, for people interested in protecting and defending the Second Amendment, it should be considered a “grace period” during which you can sort through the herd of candidates to determine who best will protect your interests. There’s no better time than right now to get busy. |

Vice President Kamala Harris believes gun control is a public health issue, giving Americans more reasons to be wary of gun control efforts. The problem is, crime isn’t a disease, as much as gun control advocates want to treat it as such. Criminal activity is a behavior and science has yet to bring about a medical remedy that prevents an individual from committing crimes. |
