"The parents of a 13-year-old Ellicott City boy who was accidentally shot and killed by a friend in April last year have filed a $20 million civil lawsuit against the family of the teen-age shooter."
"The wrongful-death suit filed in Howard County Circuit Court alleges that the family of the teen-ager failed to supervise him properly, and that their negligence caused the death of Tanun Wichainaraphong, nicknamed "Byrd." "
Makes a lot more sense than suing gun manufacturers. |

Los Angeles, CA - State Assemblyman Paul Koretz (D-West Hollywood) and Senator Don Perata (D-Oakland) introduced legislation today to repeal the gun industry's special liability protection and hold the industry to the same standards of responsible conduct as other consumer products sold in California.
These two wing-nuts need a reality check!! Actually, what they need to introduce is legislation that will impose similar restrictions on autos, motorcycles & boats etc.... |

"He was so good at his job as a hit man, investigators say, neighborhoods often cowered under shrouds of silence and fear when the police showed up looking for witnesses. Some of those they persuaded to testify were killed days before trial."
Could that have something to do with the ban on self-defense in DC? If DC were shall-issue, might this guy have been "convicted" by St. Peter years ago? |

NATO is sending 3,500 British lead troops into Macedonia to collect 2,000 arms "voluntarily turned in" by rebels. Is this a training mission for things being planned for here in the USA? The force will include US troops, but under whose command? |

Threatening may get you killed.
KABA NOTE: It appears that the deceased was a "big guy," and though there are no reports that he was armed, he allegedly made two death threats, and we do not support people in taking a beating from "a big guy" who threatens them with death. Hopefully, future reports will further clarify this case. |

The New York attorney general's novel lawsuit charging that the gun industry is liable under a nuisance theory must be dismissed, a supreme court justice in Manhattan has ruled. There is too tenuous a connection between the way handguns are marketed in New York and the more than 1,000 deaths involving the weapons each year to support an industrywide finding of liability, Justice Louis B. York ruled Friday in People v. Sturm, Ruger & Company, 00-402586. . |

"SIR John Stevens, the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, said police in London were on target to reduce gun crime by two per cent this year, despite the number of murders involving firearms having doubled."
"Speaking as he put on display an arsenal of 700 powerful weapons seized in the capital, Sir John said he was confident that police could reduce gun crime without the need to arm more officers."
Then why'd they just put vests on hundreds of the bobbies? See pic, stack of guns seized. |

"POLICE in London have shown off a new piece of fire-power in their crime-busting arsenal - a machine that destroys guns."
"The British-made crushing machine can destroy up to 50 guns an hour."
"The equipment, the first of its type in the world, is used by several other forces as well as the Met and allows weapons to be destroyed on site, avoiding the potentially dangerous process of transporting them to a specialist location."
How long before American police order these machines? |
