... "'This case is mired in Gov. Corruption,' Vince Cefalu declared ... Cefalu himself is a previously-promoted agent who ran afoul of management for objecting to illegal wiretapping. Escalating retaliation, including for his providing further evidence of management wrongdoing, resulted in his being illegally fired and then reinstated in a settlement that included $85,000 in damages, legal fees, and an expunging of adverse information from his record."

"If you believe Air Marshals are a good idea, then you should believe that armed citizens on airplanes are a better idea. For one thing, as cnn.com reveals, the U.S. Air Marshal system is in shambles. The headline pretty much says it all: Sleep-deprived, medicated, suicidal and armed: Federal air marshals in disarray. The exposé is based on information provided by the newly formed Air Marshal Association, so it’s skewed towards the negative. Nevertheless, it’s a frightening portrait of an anti-terrorist defense force that’s highly compromised . . ." ... |

"Years ago, Nick bought me a 10″ x 10″ steel target as a thank-you for introducing him to Texas. It was a big moment in my shooting life as I’d never actually shot at steel targets before. I was floored. Before I found out about the joys of steel, I’d bore holes in paper targets for hours with little or no feedback. In a post steel world, I got an immediate report on whether and where I’d hit or missed. After a dozen or so rounds, though, my feedback was reduced to binary hit or miss due to paint flecking off the steel. AMSEC’s Gravity Spinning Bullseye target changed my usage of steel in a major and very positive way . . ." ... |

"My first rifle was a .22 Henry lever action and a Marlin in .357 was the first centerfire rifle I shot. Unfortunately, by the time I was searching for a lever gun in a pistol cartridge, the options were limited. Winchester was no longer making rifles in the U.S. and Marlin was suffering teething problems from a factory relocation. An 1873 by Uberti was appealing, but a bit out of my price range. Rossis were inexpensive but disassembly of the 1892 action was daunting. There were just too many little slotted screws. I tend to favor guns made in the U.S., which didn’t work in favor of a Rossi or Uberti . . ." ... |
