"The County will file an appeal today to request review of Judge Grove's July 29th decision not to answer legal questions surrounding Columbia County's second amendment sanctuary ordinance," a release from Columbia County reads.

The Columbia County Board of Commissioners filed the petition for validation seeking clarity from the court about what firearm regulations can be enforced to avoid other costly litigation. Grove refused to answer those questions, according to the county's release.

"I know some people have said 'Missouri is trying to nullify federal law,'" Roberts said. "Well, that's not what it does, it doesn't nullify anything, it just says, you guys can enforce it, we're just not going to help you."

The U.S. Department of Justice weighed in on the case when it released a statement of interest on Wednesday, calling the new law "unconstitutional." Roberts said that assessment is inaccurate.

While Illinois State Police say they’re on top of a breach involving the information of gun owners around the state, some at the statehouse say it’s time to end the Firearm Owner’s Identification card program.

Adding to the problems of application backlogs over the past two years, it was revealed earlier this month the state’s FOID database for people to enter information to comply with the law was hacked.

Illinois State Police Director Brendan Kelly said agency officials caught the breach early.

“We remain on the offensive, but we know all systems, whether it’s the federal government, state government, local government, private industry, are continuously under attack,” Kelly said.

For decades our own government relentlessly has attacked the Constitution. Although gradual, there has been a continual wearing down of Constitutional limitations within government. Under the current administration the radical left would like to turn the Constitution into a living document. In that matter they could change whatever they wanted to. They continue to disrespect the Constitution by removing the constraints that we conservatives hold dearly, the First Amendment, the Second Amendment, 5th Amendment, the 10th Amendment, etc. The goal of the extreme left in the party is to elevate the US government into a national government with supreme authority controlled by the Democratic party.

Joined by Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie, more than two dozen Republican House members on the Second Amendment caucus released a comment criticizing a new proposed rule by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) that would prohibit homemade guns, develop a backdoor gun registry, and regulate gun parts with a background check.

The proposed rule, the “Definition of Frame or Receiver and Identification of Firearms” was introduced in May and signed by Attorney General Merrick Garland. Public comments on the rule closed Thursday.

Off-body carry is a preference among many, and a useful alternative to on-body carry for many people in certain situations. If off-body carry is a method you may incorporate, there are some important aspects you need to be aware of.

First and foremost, you need to have a heightened sense of awareness and be ready to raise the bar when it comes to the responsibility that goes with it. Your firearm is not secured on your person, so the potential issue of being separated from it is now a possibility.

Within the next 24 hours, the Santillan and her two children were arrested. They called and cooperated with police on the premise that they had a clear self-defense case, and were stunned when they were charged with the murder of 13-year-old Steve Gutierrez III and attempted murder of the three teens accompanying him, including a 17-year-old boy seen armed with a 9mm handgun.

But in court this past week, Judge Shelyna Brown signaled that she was receptive to the self-defense claim, bolstered by home-security videos that appear to conflict with the premise that Santillan and her children fired at the fleeing car, which anchors the attempted murder charges.

In a precedential decision that tracked historical frameworks and recent U.S. Supreme Court jurisprudence, the Third Circuit reversed a U.S. District Court ruling that dismissed a challenge to two zoning ordinances that limited the types of firearms with which one could practice at gun clubs and also limited for-profit ownership of such a facility. In doing so, the Third Circuit reinstated the lawsuit seeking an injunction against the enforcement of those two ordinances.

This designation came about with the National Firearms Act of 1934, under the presidency of Franklin D. Roosevelt. It started as a desire to eliminate “undesireable” items through economic means. Suppressors, Short Barreled Rifles, Short Barreled Shotguns, Machine guns, and a catch-all called “Any Other Weapon (AOW) were now to be regulated separately and named.”Title II firearms”.

The cultural opposition takes issue with the distinction between an SBR and other rifles on three layers: the arbitrary definition of an SBR, the insolvency of its restriction, and the fundamentally infringing nature of the relationship between the enforcement agency and American citizens.

Education and brochures haven’t reduced the number of stray bullets flying in parts of rural Johnson County.

Now law enforcement, the county commission and its legal department are considering a measure that will make firing bullets onto or over property without permission a code violation that could carry a maximum $1,000 fine.

The new violation is meant to enforce safety measures that have not always been used by target shooters in the unincorporated area of the county, Sheriff Calvin Hayden told commissioners Thursday.

Over the past year, some of those stray bullets have lodged in vehicles and homes, uncomfortably close to children.

Mostly, we shoot for fun. You may be practicing for hunting, but it’s fun. You may be drilling with your concealed-carry handgun, but it’s fun. And it is definitely fun if you’re shooting with your family or friends. That’s why it makes perfect sense to own a few guns that are only used for having fun. This is especially true with handguns, because there’s nothing quite like a plinking pistol or revolver. Here are six great options, as well as an additional solution worth considering.
