"With so much of the American economy foundering, it’s no secret that one bright spot is the American firearms industry. Gun owners’ fear of draconian legislation that may emanate from President Barack Obama, perennial top candidate for Gun Salesman of the Year, is unquestionably one factor driving this phenomenon."

"Today is a dubious 20th anniversary that will not be celebrated, but certainly remembered as one of the sorriest chapters in American federal law enforcement; the day that ignited the infamous siege at Ruby Ridge in northern Idaho."
"This is news today, because several agencies are reporting that a survivor of that controversial confrontation, Sara Weaver, has found it in her heart to forgive. She was 16 at the time, and lived through a horrendous chain of events that left her younger brother and mother dead, and her father and a family friend seriously wounded. ..." ... |

"Shelley Rea: Haha. I prefer to go by 'Shelley Rae' online. My background in shooting is not really standard — I didn’t grow up shooting at all. Not that my parents were against or afraid of guns, I was just a city kid, we didn’t have them. I thought they were cool. I always wanted to be the 'tough girl,' so guns were right up my alley."

"A couple of months ago I had a surprise package arrive at my door. It was a small box and inside were two Nikon P-22 scope mounts. Peculiar, right? Not the fact that a surprise package ended up at my house, that happens all the time. But that there was no optic included, just the mounts. But I started to get excited because it was a good sign. If the mounts were there, it meant the scope would soon follow. Just a few days later sure enough, the Nikon P-22 with Rapid Action turrets arrived at my door and I wasted ZERO time in getting it mounted to the first of 2 rimfire rifles it would be tested on." ... |

One thing we’ve found in our testing is that broad caliber generalizations are absolutely meaningless. Everything depends on the specific projectile and load being tested with any given caliber."

They make a line of products called 'Lasergrips' that replace the standard grips on your metal framed handgun and have a small laser built right in. But how well do they work . . ." ... |

The Southwest Gun Skills Challenge was started in 2008 to provide local shooters a smaller and more family-focused version of our premier shooting event, the Buckeye Blast, which is held at Tactical Defense Institute every other year in April. QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
The supposed quietude of a good mans allures the ruffian; while on the other hand, arms like laws discourage and keep the invader and the plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. The same balance would be preserved were all the world destitute of arms, for all would be alike; but since some will not, others dare not lay them aside...Horrid mischief would ensue were one half the world deprived of the use of them... — Thomas Paine, I Writings of Thomas Paine at 56 (1894). |
