From this report:
"Convicted felons with guns now could face two to 10 years in state prison, not county jail. The charge won't be plea bargained, Martin said, and sentences for the offense won't run concurrently with other sentences defendants receive."
"For the first time, the Legislature has given us real teeth in the law,' Martin said.
"They asked for help from service groups in mounting such a campaign, which has the support of the executive director of the National Rifle Association."

There need to be criminal background checks to become a cop. They carry guns and are empowered to shoot to kill. I say, they need to get fingerprinted and checked out with the FBI before they get a badge.

The latest victim is Katherine Prudhomme, the New Hampshire woman, who last December challenged Vice President Al Gore on his views of Juanita Broaddrick's rape...

Vice President Al Gore has accepted an invitation to debate Texas Governor George W. Bush in a forum sponsored by Judicial Watch, the Washington, D.C. based public interest law firm that has filed more than 50 lawsuits against the Clinton-Gore administration in recent years.
Gov. Bush has yet to say whether he will participate in the event. The debate will also be open to Green party candidate Ralph Nader and Reform party candidate Pat Buchanan, should they decide to attend.

At least that is how this report reads.
Someone called in to say a felon was in possession of a firearm, they didn't find any, but report on his being drunk and naked in his own house and leak it out to the press.
So much for privacy.
