The St. Louis couple who brandished guns to protect their home from Black Lives Matter protesters two months ago spoke on opening night of the Republican National Convention, warning that if Democrats win in November, American suburbs will be in trouble.
Yet in the first paragraph of its report, Reuters said the couple—Mark and Patricia McCloskey—repeated “unfounded claims by President Donald Trump that Democrats will destroy America’s suburbs.” |

Coloradans bought firearms in unusually high numbers this year, driven by turbulence of the coronavirus pandemic, Black Lives Matter protests and discussion about defunding the police, according to dealers and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. The CBI performed more than 97,000 gun background checks in March and April as firearm sales rocketed during the coronavirus outbreak. |

New from Glock, Inc., are models of the Slimline Glock 43X and Glock 48 pistols, now available in the Modular Optic System (MOS) configuration. These easy-to-carry 9 mm pistol models feature a micro-optic-ready, factory-milled slide and a slim rail. Originally introduced in July of 2019, the G43X and G48 both feature a compact, Slimline frame with a 10-round magazine capacity. Now they are available in an optic-ready Slimline configuration with an MOS cutout and slim Glock mounting rail system. Because of their non-standard MOS footprint, the Slimline MOS models require specific mico-reflex optics such as the Shield RMSc or JP Enterprises JPoint. |

The Democratic National Convention (DNC) took place this week, and, as expected, the nomination of former vice president Joe Biden (D) as the party’s nominee to challenge President Donald Trump (R) became official. After nearly half-a-century in the federal government, and more than three decades since he first campaigned to be president, his third run to be the Democrat candidate for president finally paid off. In 1988, during his first run, he would have been one of the youngest Democrat candidates to have sought the office. Now, in 2020, he is the oldest, from either major party, to be the nominee. |

Real Avid has released a torque driver specifically designed for optic mounting and gun builds. The Smart-Torq is built with the sort of precision necessary when mounting scope bases and rings. Fully adjustable in single-digit inch-lb. increments, the Smart-Torq still maintains a 10- to 70-inch-lb. range. The adjustment knob improves the ease and accuracy of setting torque, with an audible and tactile “click” indicating 1 inch-lb. of adjustment (10 inch-lbs. per full rotation of the knob).

Second Amendment supporters may wonder why some states that have elected such strong supporters of our rights in the past have backslid into supporting those who seek to inflict unjust gun control laws on us. North Carolina can be seen as one example. |

According to Cartridges of the World, the .38 Special cartridge was officially introduced in 1902, and has been a significant part of the world of firearms for over 100 years. A rimmed, centerfire round, the .38 Special is most often seen in revolvers. But other firearms, including carbines and semi-automatic pistols, have been chambered for this caliber.
Throughout the times, it’s been known as the .38 Smith & Wesson Special, the .38 Colt Special, 9x29.5mmR, or 9.1x29mmR. In its standard round, the .38 Special weighs 158 grain (gr), features a total cartridge length of 1.455 inches, and travels at 755 feet per second (fps). |

Today, the Norfolk City Council will consider banning firearms in certain public locations. Second Amendment supporters are encouraged to OPPOSE Item R-11. The meeting will be held remotely by video conference, starting at 6:00PM. Click here for information on attending the meeting remotely. For decades, Virginia’s strong preemption statute has prohibited localities from passing their own gun control ordinances. This not only prevents a confusing patchwork of laws, but also ensures that Second Amendment rights are equally protected across the whole Commonwealth. |
