Can a state attorney general unilaterally reinterpret a gun control statute to retroactively ban firearms that had been openly bought and sold within the state throughout the law’s 20-year history? William G. Young, a federal judge in Massachusetts, said “yes” in Workman v. Healy, the NRA-supported challenge to the attorney general’s ban. |

I’m a consumer of news just like you are. After each mass murder, the news media shouts that attacks on our schools and churches are a growing epidemic. “Experts” appear on the news and tell us to turn in our guns to make America safer. Once we read past the headlines, then we can see that the media might not be interested in the truth.
We are building mass murderers here in the US, and the news media is complicit in killing our kids. |

Appearing as a guest on Sunday's MSNBC Live with David Gura, longtime MSNBC analyst and retired General Barry McCaffrey oddly claimed that both "automatic and semi-automatic" weapons are used by mass shooters, and likened mass attacks to the time he was hit by machine gun fire in the Vietnam War, as he gave the impression that rapid fire machine guns are readily available to U.S. civilians. He also went on to call for gun registration and efforts to reduce the number of guns. |

It almost seems that everywhere you look, there is a new holster coming out for every square inch of our bodies. As if we could possibly carry our firearm anywhere we want to anymore. Just because we “can” do something doesn’t necessarily mean we “should.” When choosing a holster for your carrying needs, it is very important to make sure it has everything that a holster needs to fulfill its purpose. A holster isn’t just an optional decorative accessory to your firearm. It is an absolute must if you want to safely carry or carry and conceal your gun.

During Thursday morning's MSNBC Live, host Hallie Jackson and her panel engaged in a discussion about a New York Times report describing Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos’s plans to allow schools to use Federal funds to buy guns for their teachers and it included quite a head-scratcher as the headline indicates. After playing a clip of President Trump advocating that “we have to harden our schools” shortly after the Parkland, Florida school shooting, Jackson opened by proclaiming that DeVos’s new policy proposal “would be a major change away from the government’s longstanding policy not to set up schools with weapons.”

Throughout my career as a hunter and someone employed by the outdoor industry, I have hunted in many areas of the country. In doing so, one of the most time-consuming tasks after the tag has been drawn and the hunting license was purchased is the reading and understanding of the state’s hunting regulations. Each state is different and some states are very different than home when it comes to their game laws. |

A federal judge ruled on Thursday that a suit against Michigan's requirement that foster parents keep their firearms locked away at all times could move forward. William and Jill Johnson sued the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services after William claimed he was told he’d either have to give up his gun rights or give up his grandson. Johnson said in his court complaint that a caseworker told him "if you want to care for your grandson you will have to give up some of your constitutional rights."

In the middle of the 1950s, a British firearms expert named Geoffrey Boothroyd gave a piece of advice to the novelist Ian Fleming about what guns his fictional spy, James Bond, should be using in the novels that Fleming was writing. Among the guns that Boothroyd suggested was the Walther PPK, a small, easy to conceal, hammer-fired pistol, and Walther’s reputation as the preferred choice of secret agents had begun. |

One of our very own caught up with a local law maker who was behind Arkansas Act 562, otherwise known as the Enhanced Carry law. It's an act allowing the possession of a concealed weapon on university campuses after a person undergoes additional training. Representative Charlie Collins said this allows more guns to be at the ready in the event of an active shooter. |
