    | In the wake of mass shootings early this month, Walmart stores nationwide are being pressured to stop selling firearms and ammunition. The fact that the worst of the shootings (22 killed) occurred at one of their stores in El Paso, Texas, and another shooting killing two occurred at a Walmart in Southaven, Mississippi, led many anti-gun advocates to attack Walmart’s policy of selling arms and ammunition in some of their stores.

    | Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham is busy. He is openly touting the need for bipartisan legislation encouraging states to enact “red flag” gun confiscation laws, which place in the hands of local and state-level judges the near-absolute power to order confiscation of a person’s firearms. At the very same time, he talks openly of the well-known abuses by the federal Department of Justice and the super-secret Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) that set in motion unlawful surveillance of persons connected with the 2016 Trump campaign.

    | At least 29 people were wounded — six fatally — in citywide shootings over the weekend. On Sunday, a 17-year-old boy was shot to death in Chatham on the South Side. About 3:33 a.m., Dontevon Gates was among a group of 30 to 40 people who were gathered in the 8200 block of South Maryland Avenue when shots rang out from an unknown direction, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

    | Most members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints already knew they were discouraged from taking their guns to church on Sunday, but the church is making sure that message is crystal clear by tweaking the policy to prohibit all lethal weapons. The previous policy called it inappropriate to have weapons on church property. It still includes an exception for law enforcement officers.

    | Gun-free zones disarm the good guys but fail to disarm violent murderers. We saw this again in the mass murders last month, but this isn’t a new phenomenon. We see example after example as we look at the history of violent attacks. Gun-control politicians don’t care about this history of failure and the media never holds gun-control politicians to account. In fact, Democrat politicians demand more gun-control after each mass murder.

According to investigators, the father is 70 years old and the son was 44. Deputies received the call around 9:20 p.m. Sunday and were told a father and son were arguing. | The open tip match bullet (OTM) is primarily used as a target shooting ammo, hence the word “match” – but what is match ammo? There seems to be a massive debate about this particular term (OTM), because it comes across as a hollow point when it's technically not, and it can cause some confusion. The military can use it because it’s technically not a hollow point, but some hunters can’t because it is a hollow point. This is probably the most controversial term of any bullet currently in use today.

    | The Giffords Law Center released its nationwide, annual gun law scorecard.

The study graded states by their gun safety measures and 2018 gun violence statistics.

The center is a nationally known policy organization that has supported the reduction of gun violence through stricter gun laws.

The center said gun violence kills more than 1,000 Michigan residents each year.

It gave Michigan a letter grade of "C" and ranked the state 16 out of 50.

The study said Michigan's gun related death rank is 37 out of 50.

The study also found that Michigan's gun violence has disproportionately impacted communities of color.

    | Weapons. Our U.S.A. was started with single-shot mascots, in the 1700s. Most citizens used them to put food on their plates. When war was started, big guns were used. We won at Fort Ticonderoga, we hauled the cannons 200 miles to defend Boston. The weapons of war kept getting bigger, bombs, missiles, tanks, planes, and drones. Only to be used by the military, no one else could possess them. This should be made clear by laws that define what weapons can be used by citizens. All must be able to fire one shot at a time and registered by the owner. No rapid-fire, rounds can only be a certain size. All weapons that are bigger cannot be owned and will be taken away and destroyed.
