The bottom line is this. If you want to make your voice heard, have at it. If you want to exercise your Second Amendment right to protect yourself from physical harm or government overreach, more power to you. But if your rifle is pointed, figuratively, at your fellow citizens instead of the government, you’re only turning public opinion against its proper use. Keep it at home so you still have it if or when it’s really needed.
Ed: Of course you have 2A rights, as long as you never use them. Sheesh. |

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra's office filed a petition Friday calling for a review of an appeals court ruling that threw out the state's ban on large-capacity magazines.
On Aug. 14, a three-justice panel from the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a ruling by San Diego-based U.S. District Judge Roger T. Benitez, who found that the ban on the acquisition and possession of magazines that hold more than 10 rounds was unconstitutional.
Becerra is calling for an en banc review, stating the panel's ruling is inconsistent with existing case law. |

Beyond that, the veteran talk show host also encouraged "patriots" and "militia" members to get their guns and ammo and head to Kenosha to defend life and property.
"By the way, where are all the patriots who brag on Facebook, 'Hey, bring it, baby! Lock and load!' Where the hell were you last night?" McKenna asked. She continued, "Have you cleaned your guns lately? Do you have enough ammo?"
Beyond that, McKenna suggested that "cop-hating, anarchist-loving" Gov. Tony Evers and "pathetic, idiot puppet" Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes, both Democrats, should be put on trial for what happened in Kenosha. |

Americans have been on a record gun-buying spree in recent months.
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic and protests for racial justice, the gun industry’s trade association, the National Shooting Sports Foundation, estimates that gun sales from March through July were 8.5 million. This is 94% higher the same period in 2019.
Firearms industry consultants estimate July sales alone were 2.0 million units, an increase of 136% over July 2019. |

The video shows a timeline of the shootings during the Kenosha riots on 25 August 2020. In the video, there are two shooting sequences. Both appear to be cases of self-defense.
The video identifies the rifleman as Kyle Rittenhouse.
The first shooting happens as the rifleman is running away from pursuers, in the lot of an auto dealer. You can see him running and people pursuing. One is getting close enough to throw something [molotov cocktail] at him. About five seconds later, you hear shots being fired. A few seconds after the shots, you hear “he shot him”. |

“I won't insult your intelligence by suggesting that you really believe what you just said.” ~ William F Buckley Jr.
From a friend and student in Minneapolis, MN:
“Yesterday afternoon, Minneapolis Commissar Frey and his ‘Gang of Aging Bolsheviks’ held a press conference to report on their progress to ‘reform’ police use of force.
As with Sleepy Joe, we citizens quiver at the depth of Commissar Frey’s knowledge of armed self-defense, and eagerly awaited the results. |

It has been twelve years since the Court affirmed in D.C. v. Heller that “the right of the people to keep and bear arms” actually means “the right of the people to keep and bear arms,” and ten years since the court affirmed in McDonald v. Chicago that the Second Amendment applies to the states as well as to the federal government—and yet, as valuable as those decisions are, the last decade has made it clear that the U.S. Supreme Court is not especially interested in ensuring that they are enforced. In June, the justices continued this unfortunate trend by denying certiorari on no fewer than ten Second Amendment cases. For now, then, the right will remain a mere abstraction to the nation’s network of courts. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of men and women. — Thomas Paine, The Crisis, Intro. (Dec. 1776). |
