New Jersey's Attorney General Matthew Platkin explained that soon, all semi-automatic firearms sold in The Garden State will need to be outfitted with a specific gun control technology. This technology, called “microstamping” imprints the shell casing with a unique serial number. The idea is that investigators will easily match shell casing found at the scene of a crime to a specific gun, and then be able to solve more gun crime. That's the idea, and makes for a good plot of the fictional show CSI, but does it actually work? |

David Hemenway, a Professor of Health Policy at Harvard University’s Injury Control Research Center, has been a proud proponent of anti-gun “research” for many years. Rather than relying on criminologists and experts in law enforcement to diminish violent crime where firearms are used, Hemenway long-ago jumped on the anti-gun bandwagon of trying to frame the discussion about gun-control from an approach of addressing it as a “public health” issue—as if there is some sort of vaccine that could be developed to stop violent criminals from being violent criminals. |

There is a new sheriff in town! Well, at least in the pistol optics world. Holosun has released its new HS 507Comp reflex sight. The 507Comp, which is short for competition, is for exactly that. It is purpose-built for competition, a first for Holosun. Most of its other offerings, while used in competitions, have been billed as duty or CCW optics. |

The .270 Winchester, not to be confused with the 270 WSM, is used primarily for hunting, whether deer hunting or big game hunting, such as for elk. The best 270 ammo is Hornady Superformance SST because it has enough knockdown power to suffice for most hunting situations, is very reliable, and is trusted by many hunters and shooters. |

As the actor John Ratzenberger tells it, when he auditioned for the hit 1980s sitcom Cheers—a show that centered on a group of Boston pub goers—he was being considered for the role of “Norm,” the bar’s sage. Ratzenberger was wise enough to know that part didn’t fit him (it would be won by George Wendt), so he asked if they had cast a bar know-it-all. The producers said they hadn’t. And so, soon Ratzenberger was cast as “Cliff Clavin,” the guy in the bar who knew just enough about everything to get himself humorously in over his head all the time. |

A good handgun grip will make or break your shots. While many shooters focus on other factors such as draw, sight picture, etc., if you don’t have a proper grip, you won’t be consistent on your targets – especially if you’re under stress, when you most need your shots to count.
Here’s how to tell if you're holding your handgun properly. If you're not, we'll help you get a grip and get that fixed. |
