How many more didn't they catch?
And aren't those items banned? (And if so, is this story false? Because we know bans work to eliminate banned items, just like the bans are working on drugs...)

Being tried for the juvenile equivalent of voluntary manslaughter.

The Brittish slant on this situation may make your blood boil. Check it out...
"A BAND of ultra-religious paramilitary zealots have barricaded themselves into a dusty Texas compound with several children and an arsenal of guns, vowing to die before they will surrender to police." |

Although the Post cited 67 environmental initiatives that are scheduled to be completed before the end of Clinton’s term in office, they failed to mention the gun control measures that his administration is putting into place by regulation or Executive Order. It’s understandable that the Post wouldn’t mention the gun issue since they, like most of the major media, solidly support any initiatives to make it more difficult for gun owners to buy, sell, use, and enjoy their firearms legally. |

The battle over AB-273 is over. Red Davis convinced Jack Scott to drop the bill.
Scott says he will prolly bring it back next year, but he will not be in the assembly due to term limits. He is running for state senate.
Let's make sure he does not win!! |

"Another powerful weapon has been seized and destroyed - one that Republicans brandished for decades to vanquish Democrats."
"This just in: Violent crime in the United States plunged 10 percent last year, one of the steepest declines in decades, the Justice Department announced. And during the entire Clinton-Gore administration, violent crime dropped one-third from the national crime rates that existed at the end of the Reagan and Bush era." |

HCI sure gets great press...
"RENO, Nevada, August 30 – A new gun study released by a handgun control lobby ranks Nevada among one of the worst states when it comes to gun safety and protecting kids. The gun control lobby gave Nevada a “D+” grade. But, gun advocates say you need to take the findings with a grain of salt since a pro-gun control group released the study." |

This report says the ATF is taking public comments on this one. Go for it: http://www.atf.treas.gov/contact/index.htm
"Federally licensed importers, manufacturers and dealers of guns would have to conduct at least one inventory each year to identify any missing firearms, under a rule proposed by the Clinton administration."

Tamco steel in California melts them down, Kentucky prefers the enviro-friendly motto: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. :-)
Of course the gun haters of the world are aghast, and I suppose that is a good thing, too.
The auction raised $37,000, and some dealers said the guns were junk or went too high....but I'm just glad they are doing it. Before 1776, melting down a gun would have been considered blasphemy. As far as I'm concerned, it STILL IS. |

Most favor enforcing current laws over creating new ones
By Jon E. Dougherty © 2000 WorldNetDaily.com
Though more than two-thirds of Americans think criminals can obtain handguns far too easily, just over half say that the enforcement of existing gun laws would work better to curb illegal gun use than writing new ones.

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
"And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling in terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? [...] The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!" —Alexander Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago (Chapter 1 "Arrest") |
