"Tim (Can I call you Tim?),"

"The fantasy is all yours, my friend. Like you, I will state my opinions as fact since that seems to be good enough for HuffPo:"

"Most law-abiding gun owners don’t fantasize about the guns-a-blazing scenarios you seem to dream up. Their wish is to have their guns and never be in a situation where thay are forced to use them. They just want to know that if they do need it, it’s there. They are not 'imagining what would’ve happened if I’d been waiting there for the thief with a gun, soothing myself with pathetic little revenge scenarios of shooting the intruder.' Gun-toting posses really aren’t the fantasy of gun owners. They are simply the unsubstantiated nightmares of gun control advocates . . ." ...

Microsoft’s minions don’t allow any firearms or firearms-related advertising of any sort anywhere on their system. Here’s the skinny from disallowed content guidelines."

"I’m generally a minimalist when it comes to firearms, especially my carry guns. Toward that end, I carry Glock. And while I’ve never been a big fan of the stock Glock sights, it didn’t seem like any of the other configurations contributed enough to my effectiveness to warrant a switch (i.e. converting all my carry guns to the same sighting system). On all the systems I’d tested, I always seem to have an issue with spending just a little too long getting a decent enough sight picture to feel really confident in my shots. This is especially apparent when working from the draw, while moving, or when acquiring secondary targets. But after a recent 2-day defensive pistol course . . ." ...

"In the run-up to the Crimson Trace Midnight 3-Gun, I came to the realization that I needed more light on my rifle than my TLR-1 could provide. I was going to be shooting at targets 50 to 100 yards away in the pitch black of an Oregon night, and 160 lumens wasn’t cutting the mustard. And when I think 'flashlight' the first thing that usually comes to mind is 'Surefire.' After a few minutes of browsing I came across the Fury, and 2 business days later it was on my gun." ...

"We all are saddened by the senseless violence in Colorado recently. ..."

"We know the numbers. We are No. 1 in gun violence in the affluent industrialized world. Weapons are easier to buy than getting a driver's license. Responsible gun owners know there is no sporting purpose for owning an assault weapon."

"But the NRA and a few gun extremists have muzzled any adult conversation about how we can limit the possibility of these deadly rampages. The same dog-eared explanations are trotted out. They hide behind the fig leaf of the Second Amendment. ... One gun advocate actually proposed that what we need is more gun ownership. There were such comments from Colorado gun owners who suggested the same thing. Can you imagine how many more dead and wounded there could have been had even a dozen armed theatergoers fired their guns amid the chaos that followed [redacted's] barrage?"

"The suggestion that it’s OK for people to carry concealed weapons is a human disaster waiting to happen, but already there are several states that allow such laws — North Carolina, Florida and Texas and, no doubt, many other southern and Western states. Even the District of Columbia allows people with guns to enter its famous Washington Zoo." ...

"If ... the Aurora, Colo., shooter, had been a foreigner or, worse still, a Muslim, our nation would react with fury and vengeance. America would do what it does frequently and with great alacrity: we would once again declare war on our enemy. Yet, when the enemy is one of us, we respond with statements of incredulity, shock, and of course compassion for the victims’ families and friends. We appear to accept these recurring acts of wanton violence as a necessary evil of living in our open society. More to the point, the majority of our nation defends gun ownership with a religious and zealous fervor. Let’s examine what’s going on here." ...

In 1999, the scene was nearby Columbine High School. By some estimates, there are more than 20 mass shootings per year in the United States. And always the same question: Why?"

"A frenzied reaction from gun control advocates, the mainstream media and opportunistic politicians was predictable following the horrific mass shootings at the Aurora, Colo., premiere of the Batman summer blockbuster, The Dark Knight Rises. The prolonged, furious intensity, unabated at this writing, weeks after the attack, suggests enemies of the Second Amendment sense an opportunity to buck political timidity preceding the November elections, and to strike a crippling blow to the right to keep and bear arms. Adding a disappointing element into the furor was a number of so-called conservatives who felt compelled to add their voices to those of the mob." ...
