The soft point boat tail (SP-BT) is a relatively popular, “no-frills” style bullet primarily used in rifle ammunition for long-range shooting. Many F-Class competitive shooters still use this style of bullet, as it is a proven performer. With the variety of match-grade ammo on the market, there is likely a load that will perform admirably in your rifle. |

Being on the Cutting Edge is a very good feeling. We have a long list of very powerful sixguns and semi-automatics available to us as well as wrist-wrenching and hand-numbing ammunition to go with them. There is a place for all of this, especially when hunting mean critters who have the ability to bite, claw and stomp us. However, for the past decade or so the most activity has been found in self-defense sixguns, semi-automatics and ammunition. |

A Maryland police officer is facing numerous burglary charges after his boss received word that he “may have stolen firearms and other property” from a home where his department was investigating a death.
Cpl. Jacob Miskill, a five-year veteran of the Anne Arundel County Police Department, was arrested Friday and suspended without pay stemming from the late April incident, police say.
An internal investigation was launched and then, following the execution of a search and seizure warrant at Miskill’s own home, he was taken into custody.

The national Democratic Party is no longer making any attempt to hide their antipathy towards guns and gun owners. Where once the party attempted to tailor their anti-gun messaging to appear moderate and appeal to some gun owners, the draft 2020 Democratic Party Platform contains a full-throated assault on firearms ownership and a blueprint for undermining every aspect of Second Amendment rights. Viewed in historical context, the draft 2020 Democratic Party Platform is the most anti-gun the party has ever put forward. |

For no really good reason, there seems to be an attitude among prospective handgun buyers that holds the revolver in low esteem. In a majority of jurisdictions, Americans are legally permitted to carry firearms for personal defense and have long gravitated to the small, light, short-barreled revolver to play this role. But times have changed and continue to change as I hunt and peck my way through this story. Shooters look into hideout guns of a different sort, largely because we now have hideout guns of a different sort. |

Not so long ago, mentioning a handgun chambered in .380 ACP amongst your knowledgeable shooting buddies would have been greeted with sneers. But despite the naysayers of a decade ago, the family of mild .380 ACP handguns offers certain advantages. It can be made smaller than a 9 mm, operates at lower pressure levels allowing lighter-weight guns and generates a level of recoil that intimidates practically no one. |

The year 2020 has brought with it unrest and uncertainty – from the coronavirus pandemic to the wave of nationwide protests and riots that have resulted in a push not only to enact police reform but to defund and abolish entire departments. Amidst these developments, gun store shelves are being wiped bare, and more than two-and-a-half million Americans are estimated to have made the purchase of a firearm for the very first time in their lives. |

Spring Hope resident Allen Chesser submitted a draft resolution to the board in July. The document called for a state constitutional amendment that would eliminate any regulation of concealed weapons.

What is it they say, “Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder?” What is the most wonderful specimen on earth to one person is the bane of somebody else. Born of that difference is where opinion is created. In trust it offers equal stance on any subject regardless of who supports it and treats it with equal regard. It is the same with guns. Everybody has their own preferences when it comes to guns or most everything else. That is the nature of individual expressions. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small, complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd. — Alexis de Tocqueville |
