A federal judge on Thursday rejected a request to temporarily block Connecticut's landmark 2013 gun control law, passed after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, until a gun rights group’s lawsuit against the statute has concluded.
U.S. District Judge Janet Bond Arterton in New Haven ruled the National Association for Gun Rights has not shown that the state’s ban on certain assault weapons and large-capacity ammunition magazines, or LCMs, violates the 2nd Amendment right to bear arms or that such weapons are commonly bought and used for self-defense. |

According to the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), America passed a major milestone in July: For 48 straight months, concerned citizens have purchased a million or more firearms, adding an estimated 50 million more to the stockpile over the last four years.
That stockpile is estimated to be between 300 and 400 million, but the real number is likely much higher. The ATF (the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives) has been busy tracking and collecting the personal data of buyers for years, but they simply don’t know where most of those privately owned firearms are or who owns them. |

Does someone who assaulted and then threatened to shoot someone; who was involved in five shootings; and who plead guilty to violating his state’s firearms law still have a Constitutional right to possess a firearm?
This is what the Supreme Court will be deciding in case No. 22-915, United States of America, Petitioner v. Zackey Rahimi, respondent. The court will determine if Congress exceeded its constitutional authority when it enacted 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(8), which prohibits the possession of firearms by persons subject to domestic violence restraining orders. |

Brazilian company Rossi has been in and out of the centerfire, double-action revolver business for decades, most recently offering a number of. 357 Magnum wheelguns bearing the company’s name. The RP63 we have in today’s kit is a stainless steel, six-shot .357 Magnum revolver featuring a 3-inch barrel and fixed sights. This setup is often considered the gold standard for a defensive revolver, in part because of the Smith & Wesson Model 13 issued to FBI agents right before the agency moved over to semi-automatic pistols. |

Following some confusion Thursday, Wake County District Attorney Lorrin Freeman spoke with ABC11 to explain why no charges were being filed in the deadly shooting outside a Food Lion.
On Wednesday, Steven McLamb, 49, was shot and killed shortly after 5 p.m. in the Food Lion parking lot in the Greystone Village Shopping Center.
Freeman said video from the incident helped make it obvious what really happened.
"We were fortunate to have access to various video. Also there were witnesses in the area that were able to give a pretty clear image as to what happened here," Freeman said. |

A Montana couple got a late-night wakeup call from a barking dog alerting them that a black bear had broken into their living room before the man shot and killed the animal with a handgun.
The confrontation with the large bruin happened in the rural community of Luther at the base of the rugged Beartooth Mountains, where Thomas Bolkcom and fiance Seeley Oblander live with their two dogs.
After staying up late the night before — the couple was scheduled to fly that morning to Arizona for their bachelor and bachelorette parties — they awakened about 3 a.m. to their dog Maizey barking furiously upstairs from the house's main floor, Oblander said. |

Last week, the far-left mayors of Columbus and Cleveland showed the real reason they're against Issue 1. They want to run their own constitutional amendment targeting your 2nd Amendment rights.
Violent crime is on the rise in these cities, and instead of enforcing the law and backing the police, these liberal mayors want to blame law abiding citizens who exercise their 2nd Amendment right to own a firearm.
I have news for them. Felons don't consult the Ohio Revised Code before committing a car-jacking or robbing a convenience store at gun point. |

Some 74% of young people in the United States believe gun violence is a problem and almost 60% want to see stricter gun laws, according to a new report from American University, Everytown for Gun Safety and the Southern Poverty Law Center.
Researchers polled a nationally representative sample of more than 4,100 people ages 14 to 30. Wyatt Russell, senior program manager and policy analyst for the Polarization and Extremism Research and Innovation Lab at American University, said this generation – raised in an era when mass shootings are common – says school safety is a major concern and is associated with negative mental-health outcomes. |

The Louisiana state representative whose signature issue is expanding gun rights by allowing adults 18 and older to carry concealed firearms without a permit or training is raising money for his reelection campaign by raffling off a 9mm pistol.
If Republican Oil City Rep. Danny McCormick has his way the winner of the raffle will be able to conceal carry by the end of next summer.
"It's not just a signature issue for me but for my constituents," McCormick said. "I live in a rural district and my people like raffles and they like guns."
McCormick carried his concealed carry expansion bill each of his four years in the House, but it has stalled in the Senate. |

Federal background checks for over-the-counter gun sales passed a big milestone last month, chalking up four solid years of consecutive seven-digit figures.
The National Shooting Sports Foundation confirmed the 48-month streak after calculating the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System figures for July 2023.
The unadjusted FBI NICS total for last month stands at 1,987,650. Once the data is analyzed by NSSF to remove checks and rechecks processed for carry permits and other reasons, the number of checks for likely retail gun sales remains at 1,023,903, standing at the sixth highest seen in the month of July going back for the NICS program's 24-year history. |

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has revoked both Federal Firearms Licenses (FFLs) belonging to a gun shop that sued the federal government over the now-dead frames and receiver rule.
Morehouse Enterprises in North Dakota teamed up with Gun Owners of America (GOA) to fight the ATF’s attempt to regulate unfinished frames and receivers through bureaucratic Fiat. The ATF created a rule in response to a White House order to ban 80% firearms that President Joe Biden calls “ghost guns.” This lawsuit was the first case in the country to challenge the now-vacated rule. |

On August 1, 2023, a three-judge panel for the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit issued an order which found the “Final Rule” of the ATF concerning pistol braces to be unlawful. Part of the “Final Rule” claimed pistol braces, combined with legal pistols, made the combination “short barreled rifles” subject to the regulatory requirements of the National Firearms Act (NFA). This contradicted years of previous findings by the ATF. The three-judge panel sent the case back to the trial court for a ruling on a preliminary injunction and on what injunctive relief is called for. The case is Mock v Garland. |

The Governor of California wants your guns. You may respond that Gavin Newsom can come to Idaho and try taking them, but he has another route. The guy is running for President. He may be playing coy with news media, but the wheels are already turning. Check out this link.
The man wants to amend the U.S. Constitution, basically to repeal the Second Amendment. His home state is plagued by gun violence, but it’s an anomaly. Watch the video below. Just six percent of America’s more than 3,000 counties account for 56 percent of gun homicides. Those counties are blue in blue states. Across the rest of the country, it’s safe. Now this clown from the Golden State wants to spread his insane policies nationwide. |
