The wide-spread adoption of the metallic cartridge shortly after the close of the American Civil War signaled a massive step forward in firearms technology. Many iconic cartridges emerged during the period between 1865 and 1890, cartridges like the 45 Colt, the 38-40 WCF, and the 44-40 Win, just to name a few.

The Second Amendment Foundation has filed an opposition brief with the U.S. Supreme Court, opposing a stay request by the government in a case challenging the Biden administration’s attempt to classify unfinished firearm frames and receivers as “firearms.”

House Democrats introduced legislation Friday that would place a 1,000 percent excise tax on AR-15s and other firearms they refer to as “assault weapons.”

FOX News reported the tax would also apply to “high capacity” magazines.

Gabby Giffords’ gun control group, Giffords, is cheering executive gun controls expected to come from the Biden Administration soon.

Breitbart News reported on August 1 that Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) urged the Biden administration to seize on the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act as a means by which to enact further gun controls executively. Under the terms of the Act, the Biden Administration is expected to take action to expand background checks.

A North Carolina woman involved in a fatal shooting in a Food Lion parkling lot this week will not be charged. Steven McLamb, 49, was shot and killed Wednesday with no charges being filed related to the incident that day or the next. Wake County District Attorney Lorrin Freeman said police were "fortunate to have access to various video" that informed their decision not to charge the anonymous female shooter.

About every six months or so, the British tabloid media forgets that no one on this side of the pond gives a damn about what they think of American guns or our Second Amendment, and we haven’t since 1791. Were it not for armed Americans, these British hacks would be writing their anti-gun stories in High German, with lots of umlauts.

More than 300 guns are off the streets because of a gun buyback program held Saturday in southwest Baltimore. Cars lined up at the Edmondson Village Shopping Center parking lot to give up their guns. "(We're) hoping to get as many weapons off the street, out of people's homes, as possible,” the Rev. Mike Murphy, pastor of St. Joseph’s Monastery.

A Colorado gun reform law that will prohibit people under 21 years old from purchasing a gun will go into effect on Monday. SB23-169, one of several sweeping gun reform measures approved by the state legislature and signed by the governor in the spring, will prohibit people under the age of 21 from purchasing a gun, with exceptions for active members of the U.S. armed forces, peace officers and people certified by the Peace Officer Standards and Training board.

Fargo is suing the state of North Dakota over a new law that bans zoning ordinances related to guns and ammunition, continuing a clash over local gun control. The state’s biggest city has an ordinance that bans people from selling guns and ammunition out of their homes. The Republican-controlled Legislature passed a law this year that limits cities and counties from regulating guns and ammunition. The law, which took effect Tuesday, also voids existing, related ordinances.

The KelTec P50 is a futuristic looking pistol that offers a lot of power in a compact package. KelTec produces many unique firearms, and the P50 is no exception. Recently, we received a shipment of factory-blemished P50s being offered at a discount. The blemished models have minor scuffs and scratches on the finish. All of the wear is strictly cosmetic and does not affect the function of the handgun.
