"A Florida woman who was ticketed for allegedly speeding through a school zone at more than 30 miles per hour over the limit had some harsh words for the sheriff's deputy who pulled her over."

"'No wonder you people get shot!' Joy Feinberg ... told the Palm Beach County sheriff's deputy as he handed her the ticket, according to dashcam footage." ...

"... eventually the deputy returns to Feinberg and tells her that she will have to take the driver's license exam again, 'because you don't understand why I'm doing my job.'"

"'Well you're a double asshole,' she tells him."

"'Thank you, appreciate it,' the deputy says. 'Drive safely.'" ...
-------

Submitter's Note: Kudos to the deputy for keeping his cool.

Ed.: Note the complete lack of children in the video he is allegedly 'saving the lives' of.

Guerrilla Tactics in the Culture War, #1: Promoting Self-Defense as a Virtue

What should we do? We are in an ongoing culture war.

Responsibility is out. Victimhood is in. We see political examples of cultural cleansing where liberal politicians want to eliminate a conservative culture. People who love liberty should advocate for a better culture rather than be on the defensive.

For example, what should we do if self-defense was more than a right we tolerate, but was actually a virtue we promote? Here are guerrilla tactics in the private and public spheres of the culture war.

Please leave your suggestion. What should we do?

The City of Knoxville states that Chilhowee Park is not a park, therefore they can ban lawfully carried handguns there.

Tennessee Firearms Association is calling on all Tennesseans to voice their objections to the governor, their state legislators, and the Knoxville mayor.

Let's rethink the idea of a "well regulated militia."

I'm not talking about starting a vigilante movement. I am asking that we begin to think of ourselves -- all of us who live in this great country -- as guardians of our communities. That is the way the framers of the Bill of Rights thought of the "militia."

While the second clause of the single-sentence Second Amendment gives us the right to keep and bear arms, I believe that the first clause gives us the responsibility for being a militia: the guardians of our country and our communities within it.

Call it a rallying cry, a critique of the media, or an ad that just plain supports one of America’s oldest civil rights; The Blaze’s Dana Loesch declares that as a mother, there is nothing more American than having the freedom to defend your family by exercising your Second Amendment rights.

Charlie Steele sells lots of guns and ammunition to folks in Sussex County. I used to buy shotgun shells, licenses and other hunting supplies when he had his gun shop at Midway. Now I buy from him at his Route 9 shop.

I stopped in to see him Saturday a little before noon to buy 20-gauge shotgun shells for a dove shoot in a Broadkill sunflower field. Over the years I’ve seen his supply of guns - used and new - grow larger and larger. This year is no different. I’ve never seen so many guns crammed into one space, floor to ceiling, wall to wall.

We need to find common ground on gun legislation

None of these issues can be resolved easily, but my point is they should produce bipartisan agreement on the need to work toward solutions. The National Rifle Association and strong supporters of the Second Amendment should be at the forefront of developing strategies for achieving such goals.

It is likely that meaningful gun legislation at this point can only come from those who are strong advocates for gun ownership. What are needed now are useful suggestions from the gun lobby and gun owners to develop practices that will indeed prevent and remove guns from those who should not have them.

So it used social media — and the hashtag #WhateverItTakes — to belittle efforts on behalf of gun victims.

Here’s an excellent summation by the Washington Examiner of what happened:

“The NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action, headed by Executive Director Chris Cox, Twitter-bombed Bloomberg’s Twitter hashtag and associated Capitol Hill rally featuring the father of a Virginia TV reporter shot dead on live TV.

“Criminals will do #WhateverItTakes to be criminals. More laws won’t help,” said one NRA tweet. “What does #WhateverItTakes mean to anti-gunners? Repealing the #2A? Confiscating all firearms? Creating a defenseless citizenry?” said another. And in a third, the NRA promised: “We'll do #WhateverItTakes to protect the #2A!”

But I also think some take their Second-Amendment rights a little too seriously.

Two men in my hometown rocked our small community this summer when they walked into our local movie theater with semi-automatic pistols in plain view.

They allegedly asked someone at the concession stand if there were many people in the theater, which set some patrons within earshot on edge.

I am skeptical in our tiny town that the men felt unsafe at the movie theater. Why then would they bother bringing their weapons, causing others to panic and rendering many unable to enjoy the movie?

The two men allegedly said they were carrying the guns to exercise their rights.

Lone Survivor Marcus Luttrell Has Some Words for Terrorists in NRA ad

For the 14th anniversary of the heinous attacks of September 11, 2001, the National Rifle Association (NRA) is running an ad featuring former Navy SEAL and Lone Survivor Marcus Luttrell speaking directly to terrorists who think they can strike fear in the hearts of free people who are armed.

The commercial is not flashy or technologically intricate. Rather, it is a sobering moment that presents Luttrell facing the camera, addressing terrorists as if they were standing in front of him, face to face.

The controversial legislation to allow firearms on college campuses will be brought back to legislative life Wednesday when it will be heard in the Senate Criminal Justice Committee.

The legislation (SB 68) filed by Sen. Greg Evers, R-Baker, would allow anyone over the age of 21 with a concealed weapons permit to carry his or her firearm on public college grounds.

Rep. Greg Steube, R-Sarasota, has filed a companion bill in the House, where it will also be heard next week.

Liberal Virginia Governor Brings Armed Security Guard to DC For Anti-Gun Rally

Thursday afternoon Michael Bloomberg's anti-gun advocacy group Everytown for America held a small rally in Washington D.C. in front of the Capitol Building in an effort to shame Congress into passing gun control legislation. Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe spoke at the event and brought his armed body guard with him.

A few things. First off, McAuliffe's claim that people "can be armed" while we were standing on the Capitol grounds in Washington D.C. is false. It is nearly impossible for law abiding civilians to be legally armed in Washington D.C. and it is illegal for them to be armed at the Capitol (even if they go "through a background check" as McAuliffe advises).

CCRKBA Blasts Senator Kaine’s New Gun Control Measure

Sen. Kaine’s “Responsible Transfer of Firearms Act” creates what one newspaper described as “an affirmative responsibility” for gun sellers to take “reasonable steps” to assure that a buyer can legally own a firearm. But it doesn’t define what those steps might be, and doesn’t explain what other ‘reasonable steps’ a dealer or private seller might take if a person passes a background check.

“The language in Sen. Kaine’s bill seems intentionally vague and designed to create a chilling effect, especially on perfectly legal private firearms transactions,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. “It appears Sen. Kaine also expects gun dealers and private sellers to be clairvoyant.

We are coming around to Western New York big game hunting season in the next few weeks and months, and it’s amazing to see how a fair percentage of our population heads into a discussion of fear until the big game season is over.

Many of these folks, you may discover, are not knowledgeable about the North American Game Management Plan. They don’t care about overpopulation of deer – or deer in ill health, they simple do not want anyone to harvest them in any manner, archery or firearm, no matter.

Carson doesn’t have the bombast that Trump does, but he’s just as uncommitted to his own straight talk.

After receiving serious backlash when he suggested the Second Amendment might not totally apply in big cities, he abandoned that talking point without explaining what he initially meant by it.

“For the record, let me make it extremely clear that I am extremely pro-Second Amendment and that I would never allow anyone to tamper with that right.”

With the city facing a triple threat challenge from some of strongest Second Amendment groups in the nation, Seattle is adding to its legal team.

Last month Seattle Mayor Ed Murray, himself a member of Michael Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns organization, signed a contentious measure to put a $25 tax on each firearm and up to 5 cents on each round of ammo sold in the city.

This in turn triggered a promised lawsuit by the National Rifle Association, National Shooting Sports Foundation and Second Amendment Foundation who joined forces in an unprecedented effort to take the city to court over the tax they contend is illegal.

NY: Cuomo should hold firm on gun stance

In fact, the gun culture is alive and well in the United States and as a result, we are witnessing one catastrophe after another. The right wing gun nuts say that they need their guns to fight the government when it comes after them. That may be so, but we continue to see one senseless gun crime after another with horrific results.

When the shootings at the Sandy Hook Elementary School wiped out all of those beautiful children, it was more than Cuomo, who has his own kids, could bear. He used every tool at his disposal to push the SAFE Act through the Legislature and it was brutal. The result was that a few Republican Senators lost their seats. I think it was Cuomo's finest moment.

On September 8, Mexican Diplomat Alejandro Estivill sent a letter to Representative Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD)14%
(D-Md-7th) expressing the Government of Mexico’s appreciation of recent gun control efforts by the Democrat Party. He also urged a stronger gun control push.

The letter comes three weeks after White House officials reportedly attended a conference on the implementation of international gun control via the UN’s Arm Trade Treaty (ATT).

Law enforcement veteran, gun writer, and defensive handgun trainer Dave Spaulding of Handgun Combatives has made a very compelling argument for what he considers to be the best defensive ammunition on the planet. As he’s using bullets pulled from real human bodies and not ballistics gelatin, I’d say his argument has pretty strong support.

This summer has been a particularly violent one for the United States, from the massacre of nine parishioners in Charleston to an alarming spike in the rate of gun homicides in many U.S. cities. Ask 45-year-old Jennifer Fiore, co-founder and executive director of Campaign to Unload, what’s going on and she doesn’t equivocate: "This is not a mass shooting issue, or a domestic violence, suicide, or police shooting issue alone—it is all of those and more, and it affects all of us, white and black, urban and rural, rich and poor. Only if we work together can we make change."

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
The NRA has a point about the inadvisability of simply taking guns away from the populace. If that were possible, it would not disarm that small percentage of the population willing to break the law.... Punishing people who obey the law is backward thinking. — Hugh Downs, Veteran ABC newsman
