The arrival of a Colt M3AC at the Guns.com warehouse has promoted a well-deserved in-depth look at a seemingly timeless firearm design.

Gordon Ingram was a WWII veteran with a knack for guns. He returned from the war zone determined to build a better mousetrap. His mousetrap eventually became known as the Ingram Model 6. In production from 1949 through 1952, the Model 6 looked like a Thompson submachine gun in dim light but was much cheaper to build. Had it been available in 1939, the thing might have changed the world. As it was, the planet was already covered in a thin patina of submachine guns after WWII, so the Model 6 died a natural death.

The father-daughter relationship is one of life’s most rewarding. When folks wistfully say how kids “grow up fast,” it is a universal truth that comes most clearly into focus only in hindsight. I can now see that there are overlapping phases of fatherhood. The first was to love, protect and provide for the young girls in my care—in my case, two of them. The second phase snuck up on me: to prepare each young woman to be an independent, successful adult. One not-insignificant part of that was teaching the girls to be responsible for their own safety and to have the means to defend themselves. |

Attorney General Merick Garland is proposing new ATF regulations that would expand definitions in the Gun Control Act to require ever-more gun owners to obtain federal dealer licenses. This follows a new regulation redefining "frame or receiver" and another one reclassifying pistols with braces as "short-barreled rifles." |

In the legal world there is a Latin term in terrorem. The term is used to describe actions designed to intimidate or terrorize someone into a certain course of conduct, often in cases where the actual legal ability or willingness to demand that course of conduct are dubious. In short, rule through fear rather than legitimacy or the law. |

Last year, FN America launched the .22LR rimfire FN 502 pistol, both FN USA’s first rimfire pistol and the industry’s first slide mounted optics ready rimfire handgun. Now FN USA has just released the new FN 502 MRD pistol model, which lacks the threaded barrel and includes 10-round magazines. This way, people who live in states that are less friendly to the Second Amendment can still enjoy a full size, duty-oriented, optics-ready rimfire pistol which takes after its bigger brother, the FN 509 9mm pistol. |

The Democratic stronghold of St. Louis and other cities in the Republican-leaning state of Missouri would be blocked from cracking down on guns under a newly proposed constitutional amendment. A petition for a November 2024 vote on the proposal, filed this week, also would require parents’ permission for minors to use and carry firearms. Missouri currently has no age restrictions on gun use and possession, although federal law largely prohibits minors from carrying handguns. |

Ask the question, “What is the best gun for home defense?” anywhere on the Internet and you will soon see heated debate with dogmatic answers from all sides. Some people will advocate for handguns, others for AR-15 pattern carbines or pistol-caliber carbines and others for shotguns. The reality is more nuanced and complex, and there is no such thing as “The Best Home Defense Gun.” What you need to be looking for is the best home defense gun for you, based on a number of criteria. The criteria we should use to select an ideal home defense gun will be determined by our individual skill and experience, the layout of our residence, and the specifics of your own specific home defense plan. |

I was once perusing my local gun forum and someone posted a question, “Which is better for big game hunting in North America? 300 Win Mag or 300 WSM?” The users who answered all began debating differences in ballistics, case capacity, terminal performance, and ammo selection.
