"I recently spoke with a woman who lives in New Jersey. She had some great questions about gun ownership. Her questions were so good that I decided that the answers should be shared with others who might be in a similar situation. Please let me know if this helps you and if you have comments on anything else that I should have mentioned."

"Before I answer her specific questions, I want to make a general argument about how gun ownership can help people."

"Gun ownership is like wrestling in water - it levels the playing field. A 110 lb woman who pulls a gun out of her purse can instantly stop two 250 lb drug crazed rapists. Gun ownership allows citizens the ability to protect their life and property from criminals. ..." ...

CA: California Leads Nation in War on Terror - Becomes First State in Nation to Ban 50 Caliber Anti-Armor Sniper Rifles

"California yesterday became the first state in the nation to ban 50 caliber sniper rifles. The bill, AB 50, was signed into law by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. The threat posed by 50 caliber sniper rifles, and their purchase in the U.S. by terrorists, was first identified by the Violence Policy Center (VPC) in its 2001 report Voting From the Rooftops: How the Gun Industry Armed Osama bin Laden, Other Foreign and Domestic Terrorists, and Common Criminals With 50 Caliber Sniper Rifles. Subsequent VPC studies have exposed the ability of these armor-piecing rifles -- which are accurate over a mile -- to attack bulk fuel tanks and other high- value targets from a distance, as well as their ability to destroy commercial aircraft. The VPC has also detailed their criminal use in the United States."

"Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Monday signed into law a gun control measure restricting the sale and ownership of a powerful rifle critics said might be used by terrorists."

I hope everyone sent him email urging him to veto the ban. If you didn't, you have only yourself to blame for the result.

Urgent News in Michigan!!

This bill has been introduced and needs ALL to Contact their Senate and House representatives that this is unacceptable.

This bill seeks to make the Clinton Gun Ban part of Michigan law, make Gun Registration legal, levy yearly gun registration fees on legitimate gun owners, remove the Vear Transportation bill provisions and remove any grandfather clauses.

Phone calls, emails and faxes (all 3 simultaneously would get the point across) to the sponsors of the bill.

"For the second time in less than a week, ABC News anchor Peter Jennings has erroneously reported on an aspect of so-called "assault weapons," claiming in an ABC Radio report broadcast Monday afternoon that the husband of Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) was killed with an assault rifle."

"'That is not true, and even the slightest research effort by Jennings or a research assistant would have shown that Dennis McCarthy was killed with a 9mm pistol, purchased legally in California by a racist lunatic named Colin Ferguson,' said Alan Gottlieb, founder of the SAF. Their argument is that criminals have back-alley ways of getting firearms and that if the government takes away semi-automatic weapons with 30-round magazines, pistol grips, flash-suppressors, folding stocks and bayonet attachments the nation will overnight turn into a police state/war-zone in which citizens most basic rights do not exist."

"Military-style assault weapons won't be flying off the shelves when they arrive in stores next week, according to several area gun retailers who are trying to predict how their customers will respond to the end of the 10-year-old federal ban on the powerful semiautomatic guns."

"The reason, they say, is simple: There were several ways to get around the ban. The law only prohibited gun manufacturing and modification, and it has always been legal to buy, sell and trade weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines produced before the ban. That's why gun dealers suspect that most people interested in assault rifles either bought them before the 1994 ban kicked in, or paid top dollar to buy the weapons secondhand." ...

AN 11-year-old boy pulled a gun on police officers, it was revealed yesterday.

The boy is thought to have fired the air pistol at a motorist only moments earlier.

The frightened driver dialled 999 and police patrol cars rushed to the area.

When the first car arrived at Townhill, Swansea, officers were horrified to see the boy pull out a pistol and point it at them.

They called in colleagues who were already preparing to send an armed response unit.

But the initial team noticed the boy's age and the sharpshooters were stood down.

The boy was followed by unarmed officers instead.

By then he was wearing a ski mask to avoid detection.

The gun was eventually taken off him and examined.

It was found to be high-powered but only capable of firing plastic pellets.

Further inquiries into the incident, on Monday, are under way and no charges have been made.

A man forced his way into a Berlin courtroom with an antitank mine strapped to his body Tuesday to try to win compensation for medical bills.

The 62-year-old German first threatened a guard with a pistol and then revealed a Russian antitank mine, which he had attached to his body, the online version of the German newsmagazine Der Spiegel reports.

Police managed to overpower the man, and evacuated the building to comb it for further explosives. A second antitank mine was found in the man's car although it was not live.

Police said the man launched the attack after the court ruled he should not be reimbursed for an operation.

The attacker is in custody and is being interrogated by federal police.
