Hundreds of modern-day patriots gathered Saturday at the Fremont Airport for a Tea Party.
Fremont's event was one of many that were held across the United States this past weekend.
Event organizer Marion Bower said the main focus of the Tea Party was "giving voice to the silent majority." The people who attended the event were there to bring attention to their concerns over many political issues, primarily taxation, cap and trade, health care reform, and second amendment rights.
"I'm 64 years old, and I've never, ever done anything to protest. But this has gotten to the point where people need to stand together," Bower said. "We can't keep using the government to bail anything else out." |

"Elsewhere, Alameda, Marin and Los Angeles counties have banned gun shows at county-owned facilities with local ordinances."
"The bill is 'about respecting local values and local standards,' said state Sen. Mark Leno, D-San Francisco, who authored the legislation. The residents around the Cow Palace "do not want gun shows there."
Submitter's note: sadly, the public is so brainwashed that this is true, plus most people who oppose this sit on the sidelines. |

“You’re hurting me,” protested the helpless 61-year-old woman.
“That’s what pain is for,” sneered Officer Charpentier, who really needs to get his back dirty.
Mrs. Calais, who was understandably in fear for her life, continued to put up what resistance she could, and was twice pepper-sprayed by Charpentier. She was eventually charged with aggravated battery, resisting arrest, violence to a police officer, and disturbing the peace.
After being released on a $5,000 bond, Calais — supported by several family members and friends — told her story to the town council. Several others came forward to relate similar stories of their encounters with Charpentier, whose abusive and sadistic nature were well-known. The officer was terminated by a unanimous vote of the council.
“I want to apologize to all of you,” declared Councilman Jody Cheramie, who made the motion to bring about the belated but welcome termination of Charpentier. “Y’all elected me to protect you.” |

This can go beyond purely peaceful anti-crime activities but still well short of Death Wish-type summary executions. The Guardian Angles with their distinctive red berets, red jackets, and white tee-shirts have long played this protective role (they now have chapters in 100 cities in 11 countries). All receive martial arts and legal training. Kelly D. Hine’s law journal overview of modern vigilantism concludes that juries (including grand juries) generally tolerate citizens who take the law into their own hands if the state is reluctant to act. Such tolerance, in Hine’s opinion is especially likely where criminals violate community norms or the vigilante acts to prevent a preventable serious offense, for example, brandishing a gun to stop an armed robbery. To repeat, it is the jury, not the cold letter of the law, that permits communities to protect themselves from criminal violence, and it is hard to visualize a jury with African-Americans (and others exposed to such criminality) siding with gang-bangers accosted by baseball-wielding locals sick and tired of shakedowns. Without a doubt, the vigilantes will probably be treated as heroes and honored for demonstrating for their “we take care of our own” spirit. |

What does Wilson have to do with the Second Amendment? The answer is Spirit. Gun owners are gun owners not just because they like guns, but because they have the spirit of independence, and when one prefers independence over dependency, it spans into personal safety as well as into all things.
The liberals want to discourage this independence as their view of governance, and any time a Congressman stands up so, it exhibits the liberty view of independence as self-governance, not just governance. Health care is a sweeping move to discourage independence by way of closing off all exits and alternatives. |

It is from this fear that I feel in a free country we need relief far more than from a gun in the hands of an American citizen.
Now I have never owned a gun in my life, and feel no need for one, but I also feel no need to determine whether or not my neighbor has one. A little uncertainty about this is probably useful to tamp down criminal contemplation.
Those who wish to carry their guns in public on the other hand are indeed expressing themselves, foolishly perhaps, but not illegally in most cases. They feel threatened in their constitutional right to bear arms. I have no dog in this fight, as I fear armed police much more than I do armed fellow citizens. |

It's up to the pro-gun community to respond in kind and help Wilson through this difficult time. But first, who is Rep. Joe Wilson and what has he done for gun owners?
Not only has he consistently supported the Second Amendment with his votes, he has also cosponsored needed gun rights legislation. This year, he has cosponsored two reciprocity bills in the House -- including the GOA-supported HR 1620, which protects Vermont-style carry -- plus a bill that removes certain restrictions on the interstate sale of firearms. |

Randi Fairley, who is six and a half months pregnant, awoke at 4 AM when her unborn daughter began to kick. Randi then heard a noise downstairs. Investigating the sound, she found an intruder, and yelled at him. Randi then grabbed a shotgun, and chased the intruder into the street. The home invader allegedly pulled a handgun on the pregnant woman, at which point she said "you know, you need to put that away before I shoot you because mine's bigger," prompting the home invader to put his pistol back into his pocket. With some help from her mother and husband, Randi then held the alleged home invader at shotgun point until the police arrived to arrest him. |

The idea of pistol-packing rabbis and a locked-and-loaded congregation may sound ludicrous, but Gary Moskowitz - who is both a rabbi and a martial arts sensei - is deadly serious about what he sees as terrorist threats to American synagogues and what he believes is the appropriate response.
In fact, Moskowitz - who is also a cashiered New York City cop - dreams of an armed posse in every synagogue. Each congregation, he believes, should include at least five people who are carrying weapons and are prepared to fight off potential attackers. To that end, he is training clergy and congregants in the finer points of shooting at moving targets and using pews as shields. |

The FBI says murder and manslaughters reported to police dropped almost 4 percent last year.
The data was part of the Bureau's annual release of statistics, "Crime in the United States."
The 3.9 percent decline in killings was part of a nationwide drop in violent crime of 1.9 percent from 2007 to 2008.
There were an estimated 454.5 violent crimes per 100,000 inhabitants in 2008.
The number of forcible rapes (89,000 or 57.7 per 100,000 females) represents a decrease of 1.6% from the 2007 estimate, and is the lowest figure in the last 20 years.

Josh Hendrickson left his children at home Saturday and went to downtown Minneapolis, where President Obama was scheduled to speak, carrying two loaded pistols -- one in a holster under his camo shirt and another in a back pocket. He spent the next seven hours standing in front of Target Center, he said, not to cause trouble, but to make a point.
"The Second Amendment isn't suspended just because the president's in town," said Hendrickson, 32, who said he showed police at Obama's health care rally his license to carry and conceal a weapon under state law. |

On Tuesday, September 15, 2009, please remember to go to the polls and vote.
The National Rifle Association has made an endorsement among the Florida Senate District 8 candidates.
The NRA says that you can protect your Second Amendment rights by voting for John Thrasher.
“Go to the polls TOMORROW, September 15 and take at least 3 friends who will also vote for John Thrasher.”, an NRA spokesman said.
John Thrasher is reported to be “A+” rated by NRA-PVF and the NRA says, “Thrasher has proven that as former Speaker of the House, he can be counted on to help preserve our cherished firearms freedoms and to fight for the rights of law-abiding gun owners and sportsmen. Now he wants to represent you as your State Senator.” |

Council member Tom Allen is addressing a different kind of security with an ordinance he introduced that would make it illegal to fire a gun within 300 yards of a house or business throughout the unincorporated areas of Anderson County.
Exceptions would be allowed for defense of life and property, law enforcement, shooting dangerous animals, lawful game hunting and shooting ranges. Permission from neighbors or the county sheriff also would permit residents to use guns within the 300-yard limit. |

The Second Amendment says, "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
The Obama mafia and his czars must want to do away with the first and second amendment as well as hunting. What part of "shall not be infringed" don't they get?
Ms. Kenzie blamed Republicans for violence. There are Democrats and all people at these protests and meetings. These are Americans who hoped for a change for the good, and see they see America spiraling down even more with the Obama, Pelosi, Reid and Barney Frank mafia with more and bigger government. Our leaders seem to think they are royalty and we are nobody and ignorant. |

Nor is this the only novelty the President has had to endure since he began urging legislators to deliver on health care reform. Outside many of the town hall meetings he has attended have been protesters carrying guns. In the US, the right to bear arms is, of course, constitutionally entrenched. But until Mr Obama took office it was not typically a right flaunted as a tactic by those seeking to protest publicly against a president's policies. The gun-toting protesters are overwhelmingly from the lunar right of the US political spectrum, as their banners and placards calling the President a ... a Communist or a Nazi, or comparing him with Hitler, Mao, or Che Guevara testify. |

We must assume that every gun wearer is really a law abiding citizen and not intent on doing us bodily harm. We must also assume that the gun is unloaded, which is something we can't determine from afar.
That's two difficult assumptions to make during a quick family trip to the mall or market.
But it begs a question. What would a sheriff's deputy assume if he walked into a home where the political fundraising guests were openly carrying guns?
Ed.: Perhaps s/he could assume that American citizens are peaceably assembling on private property, exercising their right to political speech and right to bear arms? |
