... "As for Mike Lux rejecting accusations his group’s attack on Issa is politically motivated, he and his board—and those behind the tentacles extending to all of them—are demonstrable agenda-driven political operatives on a mission, and this is but another front in the ideological war—in actuality a cold civil war—they are waging on the freedoms of American families." ...

"We know that because of a lot of hard work and number crunching by Linoge at Walls of the City blog. He has just put out his Graphics Matter, Year the Third. He has examined the available data from the last 28 years and has thoroughly debunked the gun prohibitionists' theory that more guns equals more deaths. His analysis leads him to conclude:" ...

"Over the weekend, we were browsing our favorite brick & mortar bookstore. I ran across one book I had seen before about college student safety. I read many of these and I like them. These titles are astute, easy to implement, and worth digesting into your lifestyle as it will change upon attending college. Soon, these become shrewd habits for life after college."

"When I look at these, I look for two things: second amendment issues (within violence prevention courses) and Citizen First-aid and CPR topics. "Kel-Tec CNC has been making the P3AT pocket-sized .380 ACP pistol long before the Ruger LCP borrowed their design for the excellent LCP semi-auto. I bought a P3AT five years ago before the Ruger LCP was introduced, and since then the Kel-Tec model has been eclipsed by the Ruger model."

"That's not to say the P3AT isn't a good little gun. It's tiny, light, disappears completely in a front pants pocket and yet still holds 6+1 (7+1 with an extension) rounds of .380 ACP, but after going through a night-shooting class last year, I knew I needed to improve my low-light shooting. I bought tritium sights for my CZ P07 and looked at the options for the P3AT." ...

"How low can the Florida Legislature go in pandering to the gun lobby?"

"Citizens might have thought the answer came earlier this year when doctors were banned from inquiring about guns in the household as a factor in their patients’ welfare. ... Now local officials must deal with another gun lobby outrage. They are scrambling to meet an Oct. 1 deadline by which they must scrap all local gun control laws."

"In 1987, the Legislature passed a law that allowed the state to pre-empt the whole field of gun and ammunition controls, but it had very little effect on real life. 'No Guns Allowed' signs and other notices were kept up in appropriate places as communities continued to enforce gun ordinances already on their books." ...

"State Sen. Greg Evers, R-Baker, is almost there on his understanding of the U.S. Constitution. To get the rest of the way, he should listen to U.S. District Judge Marcia Cooke, who on Wednesday blocked enforcement of a bill Evers sponsored that sought to gag doctors' right to speak freely to their patients.1" ...

"Evers' bill strictly limited the freedom of doctors in Florida to talk to their patients about whether there are guns in the home. It's not a common doctor-patient conversation, but in cases of suspected domestic violence, drug or alcohol use, or children in the home, the presence of firearms and proper gun safety can be medical concerns2." ...

Submitter's Notes: Actually the Pensacola News Journal has missed the target, repeatedly: 1 Nope, doctors can still speak freely, they just can't specifically ask about guns in the home, unless . . .
