(California Governor Gray Davis prefers that it be called a "permit" or a "safety certificate.")
An historic handgun-licensing bill passed by California lawmakers Sept. 12 was weaker than backers would have liked, but the measure, now headed to the desk of Gov. Gray Davis, nevertheless represents a victory for gun violence prevention activists.

"The Aug. 1 [gun] incident, in which the boy's finger was injured, hardly seems reason for the Suffolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority to ban all firearms from public housing projects. The idea, weighed by the authority as a means of curtailing gun violence, is flawed on several fronts."
"The Virginia Residential Landlord and Tenant Act, as amended in 1991, bars enforcement of any public housing lease that attempts to restrict the lawful possession of a firearm." |

"No, there will be no restoration of the Second Amendment in once free and fearless America. Instead, fulfilling a pretty good definition of insanity, what they'll do is a whole lot more of what already hasn't worked.
Now we're going to make our law-abiding disarmed victims-to-be wait in even "more" interminable lines while we search their bags and their persons really, really, really well. For nail-clippers and scissors and little, tiny knives." --Vin Suprynowicz

Dan Powers, owner of Precision Ammunition in Lake County, sold 100,000 rounds of ammunition Saturday at the Central Florida Arms Show. Normally, Powers said, he would have sold about 25,000 rounds during the two-day show. He attributes the sharp increase to Tuesday's terrorist attacks.
"People are nervous," Powers said. "They want to be prepared. The president has said that we're about to fight a war in America and abroad, and no one knows what to expect." |

In the wake of terrorist attacks and a tropical storm, the number of unwanted guns dropped off during the annual gun buyback program Saturday was down sharply from last year.
"It's not a good week for this," Sgt. John Swope said as he sat in the empty Tampa Police headquarters lobby waiting for someone to drop off a gun. "It's the weather, the events that have happened since Tuesday. I think a lot of people are just at home." |

"When this nation will now be required to invest vast sums in a multitude of defense and national security areas, it should be obvious that spending $45 billion for the acquisition of private land for expansion of the federal estate (especially without Congressional oversight!) is recklessly negligent.
Any Senator who votes to squander tax dollars in such a manner by supporting CARA ought to be dragged before the American public and branded as the fool that he or she is!" --Ric Costales |

As the dust and emotion settles over Manhattan and we all return to our daily routines digesting the drama that played out before our weeping eyes this week, I would ask you to consider the infamous words of global elitist and billionaire David Rockefeller as he and others like him carefully planned out our future from behind closed doors:
"We are on the verge of a Global Transformation. All we need is the right major crisis and the nation will accept the New World Order!" |

"But it would be far more corrosive to fall into the trap of believing, as some appear in danger of doing, that Tuesday's tragedy became inevitable the moment the perpetrators stepped aboard their respective planes that morning. The example of the passengers of Flight 93 shows definitively that this is not so." --BRIAN CARNEY |

Lehigh Univesity vice provost of student affairs John Smeaton ordered their student transportation busses not to display the US Flag to keep from "offending" the sensitvities of foreign students. Thank God smarter heads finally prevailed.
You can contact Mr. Smeaton to tell him how offended YOU are as an American:
