Georgia homeowner fatally shoots 3 teens in masks who tried to rob him, sheriff's office says

The trio "attempted to rob three individuals in the front yard" of the home, and one of the teenagers "brandished a gun and fired shots" at those in the front yard.

One of the intended victims of the attempted robbery returned fire, shooting all three teenagers, authorities said in a news release. One of the teenagers died at the scene, while the two others died at a nearby hospital.

Submitter's note: Three less hoodlums and no one knows how many crimes they won't commit.

This is the only thing that keeps criminals in check. They have no fear of the police or the criminals justice system.

Ive been in suspense since Thursday night wondering how his call to take everyones AR-15 would play with the Democratic base. Theres nothing that might singlehandedly place a struggling candidate on voters radar like a passionate call for radicalism on one of the lefts top cultural priorities. Especially since Beto has the field more or less to himself in staking out this position.

The fact that such a weapon was used by the Odessa shooter was the basis for Robert Francis Beto ORourkes infamous declaration: Hell yes, were going to take your AR-15, your AK-47! But this is like banning cars because automobile accidents kill more than 40,000 Americans a year, or banning tall buildings because more than 35,000 Americans die each year from accidental falls. The National Rifle Association (NRA) may be dedicated to armed self-defense, but the organization itself is largely indefensible. NRA leader Wayne LaPierre, who billed the group for his luxury clothing and lavish vacations, spent the summer purging high-ranking rivals who questioned its dire financial straits. Though it bills itself as the nations largest civil-rights organization, the NRA is unenthusiastic about defending the rights of black gun owners and has trafficked in racist rhetoric through its media outlet. Hopefully the mere fact that youre reading this article means that youre concerned and willing to take action against the all-out assault we are seeing against the Second Amendment. To make matters worse, the liberal Left and mainstream media just do not get it, nor do they care. Make no mistake, the liberal side of the field (look no further than the current democratic candidates for president) wants to force a mandatory buy back of your assault rifles, outlaw high capacity magazines and implement Red Flag laws. The General Assemblys fall session officially kicks off today, and gun violence is expected to be at the top of the agenda. A week from now, the Senate Judiciary Committee will convene for two days to discuss behavioral health, Second Amendment rights, and other gun related issues. The panels chairperson, Sen. If Trump says no to reform this fall, hes essentially gambling that nothing catastrophic will happen over the next year that ends up galvanizing an electoral push on gun control. Thats a reasonably safe gamble public backlashes to gun rights after major violence are famously fleeting but not completely riskless. To put all of that another way, if Trumps willing to do anything on background checks *at any point*, the time to do it is now.

UPDATED: Seattle police announced the arrest of a suspect in a fatal shooting that occurred in the citys Westlake Station transit tunnel last Friday; a man apparently well known to lawmen in nearby Bellevue, where the arrest occurred, but already Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan is blaming guns, not the alleged perpetrator.

In response to recent mass shootings throughout the country, San Rafael officials this week discussed enacting local laws they say could help prevent gun violence in the city. (Taking) no action is inexcusable, said Mayor Gary Phillips, who has called on federal lawmakers to tighten gun laws after massacres last month in Texas and Ohio killed 31 people in two days. Phillips had pledged in August to fly city flags at half-staff until Congress took action on gun safety, but he decided to raise the flags less than a week later and said hed instead work to tackle the issue locally.
