A requirement for youth to be 21 years old before they can legally have a rifle or pistol is hogwash. Requiring all to be officially trained proposes to get armed folks’ ID, address and phone number. Youths 17 or 18 are old enough to join the armed services, carry a selective-fire fully automatic “assault rifle” and die for the U.S. Why are they then not old enough to own a semiautomatic rifle, pistol or revolver as civilians? Answer: Washington’s “socialist ruling class” says, “No way commoner; do as your betters command.” |

I grew up in a deer hunting environment in the American South. The animals are cunning, and the distances close.
The lever action rifle is resonably fast to shoot, accurate, and handy to suit hunting in thick brush as such it was a popular choice where I came from, and chances are they are still kicking around where you are too.
Go into any gun store, and you will find a lever gun solution to any problem. When I first started my unfortunate habit of casing gun stores, I had a habit of going to the lever guns first. Marlins and Winchesters were by far the most common but Henry Arms was making some serious inroads. Their Big Boy pistol caliber rifles in 357 Magnum and 44 Magnum were especially predominant at my favorite hunting spot. |

What’s even more striking is that noted, liberal-leaning Harvard law professor Laurence Tribe has also dismissed the campaign to abolish the Second Amendment.
In a piece for The Washington Post, Tribe wrote that the Second Amendment isn’t the problem; in fact, Tribe declared, repealing the Second Amendment would not limit a single gun or enact a single regulation.
The fact is abolishing the Second Amendment isn’t necessary because the Supreme Court has already set some reasonable parameters.
In the Supreme Court’s historic 2008 Heller decision that underlined an individual’s right to bear arms, the court also noted that right wasn’t unlimited — and that certain classes of “dangerous and unusual” weapons could be limited. |

National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund Chairman Chris Cox called Congresswoman Blackburn a champion of Second Amendment freedoms. He said voting for Bredesen means voting for anti-gun Senate leadership.
In his ad, Bredesen says he’s a lifelong gun owner and Second Amendment supporter, though it isn’t always popular, calling it his way of life growing up. He touts his NRA ‘A’ rating while governor and pledges independent thinking. Cox responded that Bredesen is now ‘D’-rated, saying the ad should be retracted because it’s misleading. |

While the number of people who own guns in America may have decreased over time, the people who own them have become more politically active.
That’s according to a study recently released by political scientists at the University of Kansas.
Donald Haider-Markel, one of the study’s co-authors, told Brian Ellison, guest host of KCUR's Central Standard, gun owners are not only more likely to vote than non-gun owners but also are more likely to engage in other political activities such as calling elected officials or donating to campaigns.
That participation gap tends to be stronger than other demographic factors such as race, gender, income and education. And the gap has generally increased over time, Haider-Markel said. |

Democrats are doing everything possible to keep Judge Brett Kavanaugh off the Supreme Court because they don’t want to confirm a conservative jurist who will faithfully and accurately apply the Constitution to cases that come before the high court.
The framers who signed the Constitution knew it would need to change with changing times, so they set up a process to amend the document – a process that has led to the adoption of 27 amendments. It was never the intention of the framers to have Supreme Court justices effectively amend the Constitution with their decisions – even though that’s what many Democrats would like to happen.

To illustrate the reach of the posts, the data analysts calculated their total potential impressions — the number of followers for the accounts multiplied by the number of Tweets.
Pro-NRA and pro-gun messages had more than 32.4 million potential impressions; anti-gun and anti-NRA messages had fewer than 6.7 million potential impressions. The pro-NRA messages had nearly five times the reach as the anti-NRA messages.
The tweets are overwhelmingly supportive of gun ownership and speak about the NRA in positive terms. There was comparatively little anti-NRA content.
Ed.: For comparison, Elon Musk gets more potential impressions than that in just two tweets. |

Washingtonians and the National Rifle Association for Freedom are pleased to announce that a group of Washington’s most passionate gun rights organizations, the Citizens Committee For The Right To Keep And Bear Arms (CCRKBA) and the Washington Arms Collectors (WAC), have joined our efforts to fight an extreme gun control initiative in Washington state, I-1639.
“The six million members of the NRA enthusiastically welcome the Citizens Committee For The Right To Keep And Bear Arms and the Washington Arms Collectors to this fight,” said Chris W. Cox, executive director of NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action. “Washington gun owners deserve a coalition dedicated to defending their freedoms and the NRA is ready to lead the charge." |

Veteran actor Tom Selleck resigned from the NRA board of directors Wednesday but will remain a member of the organization. Reuters published a statement from Selleck’s publicist, Annett Wolf, which said, “Tom Selleck has stepped down from the board of the NRA due to his work schedule.”
Wolf added, “Mr. Selleck remains a member of the NRA.”
Wolf told The Trace, “He has nothing to do with policy. He’s never been active on the board or anything the NRA engages in. He’s almost always been a silent board member.” |

Two police officers in Maryland were shot by a resident in his own home after they forced their way into the wrong apartment while trying to serve a search warrant, according to a new report. The episode on Wednesday night in suburban Washington was eerily reminiscent of another earlier this month when an off-duty officer in Texas shot and killed a resident in his own home because she said she confused it with her own apartment.
A team of officers from the Prince George’s County’s Police Department were reportedly tipped off that a drug dealer lived in the District Heights apartment they targeted, NBC Washington reported Thursday afternoon. But they weren’t expecting an innocent, armed father to be inside protecting his children. |

The house sitter handed the neighbor her gun and he fired a warning shot, but the intruder had already jumped out of a window. |

The measure would also increase fines for violations to a maximum of $300 and a maximum of 90 days in jail. The proposed ordinance would exempt people who use guns in self-defense, at a licensed public or private shooting range and someone firing blank ammunition for a ceremony or athletic contest.
Residents would be restricted from firing air guns, BB guns or air pellet guns on public property, rights-of-ways or across property lines. It would be illegal to shoot a crossbow, bow and arrow or blowgun in the borough. Bows and arrows could be used in archery practice sites. |

On behalf of our six million members, the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) today endorsed Rep. Pete Sessions for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives.
“Pete Sessions is a proven champion of our Second Amendment freedoms. We can count on Pete to protect the constitutional rights of all Americans,” said Chris W. Cox, chairman, NRA-PVF.
Sessions successfully shepherded the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act through the U.S. House, which is the strongest self-defense legislation to ever come before Congress. |
