"Today I feel a need to rant about what I have been reading in the news. I see two mass murders still being talked about and each was the fault of our governmental systems. Yet for some reason, this has become a call for gun control as if that is the real problem. Then we have the media, who milks these stories for all they can get and by doing this, give others ideas and a way to make a statement on a national level."
"About the shooter arrested in the Chicago park shooting:"

"CONSIDER a country that allows the slaughter of so many innocent lives by the mass-murder weapon of choice in that country. Stricter laws would surely reduce the bloodshed that's taken nearly 400 lives and injured nearly 1,000."
"We're not describing America and its gun culture or the debate over restrictions on firearms. The death and injury toll listed above describes Pakistan and bombs. And it covers just the first six months of this year."
"A man who could enter a 'secure' U.S. military facility with a loaded gun could surely have entered it with a strap-on bomb ... This mass murder, like so many before it, unleashed the vitriol of anti-gun advocates who focus on the weapon more than they do the killer." ... |

"In what is quite possibly the most egregious misapplication of zero tolerance policies in the history of public education, three Virginia Beach 7th-graders have been suspended, with two of them placed on long-term suspension through next June for playing with Airsoft guns on private property. The three suspended boys were playing with the guns while waiting for the school bus in one of the boys’ front yard. A neighbor called 911 and reported it, noting that the gun was a toy and that the boys were shooting toward a target in a tree with a net behind it to catch the pellets. If you completely and totally screw up a stage, you can’t call mulligan and try it again. You’re stuck with your score. However, if something goes wrong and it’s the fault of the match staff — like the targets weren’t reset or they lost your score — then you might get a re-shoot. That version included many improvements over its 7.62×39 flavored predecessors and has actually been the main firearm of the Russkies longer than the original AK-47. But the time has come for the country to move on and enter the 21st century and toward that end, they are about to start phasing in the AK-12 (for 2012) rifle to all branches of service. There are some differences and improvements, but in general they will be doing what every pimply faced first-time gun owner does to their milsurp rifles to make them 'tactical:' slap rails on every imaginable surface . . ." ... |
