We have seen quite a few new handgun variations to come out from Springfield Armory this year sporting integrally compensated barrels because of the bevy of benefits they provide us as shooters. First, was the Hellcat Pro. Next, came the 1911 DS Prodigy. Now, we have a new Echelon Comp 4.5F 9mm offering. This gives the Echelon even less recoil and a flatter shooting experience for those who are carrying one for duty, compete with it, or use one for self-defense.

Attorney General Raúl Labrador, joined by 28 other states, has filed an amicus brief with the Supreme Court of the United States. The broad coalition requests a writ of certiorari, asking SCOTUS to take up the case of Snope v. Brown, where the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld Maryland’s unconstitutional ban on hundreds of styles of firearms, including the AR-15, the most popular modern semi-automatic sporting rifle in America. Inexplicably, the Fourth Circuit simply declared that the AR-15 was “military-style” and therefore not an “arm” protected by the unambiguous language of the Second Amendment.

North Carolina's Angstadt Arms has debuted what is essentially a drop-in suppressed barrel for Ruger 10/22 rifles – the Vanquish 22. Taking a page from the company's Vanquish AR-9, the V22 brings a whole option for quiet time with the country's most beloved rimfire platform. Incorporating a precision ported barrel, their is no need for buying sometimes cranky subsonic ammo as the Vanquish 22 drops the velocity of standard .22 LR rimfire ammo to subsonic levels.
