"Laura S. Washington has penned another sad, pathetic, drooling diatribe against gun owners. We're well-organized, able to mount a rapid response, and apparently, we're mostly 'white men from suburban and rural areas.'"
"I would beg to differ with that assessment, and I'm sure so would Kenn Blanchard and thousands of other intelligent, law-abiding African American men who understand the importance of freedom."
"Apparently, Laura's ignorance just doesn't end. A few weeks ago, I wrote her a pretty polite letter explaining the glaring errors and twisted facts in her column. I got nothing but a canned response about how she appreciates my taking the time to write." ... |

"Tomorrow we will be receiving 28 Maine Lobsters overnighted from Bushmaster. This is a promotion that they have done for quite a few years, but we have never got this many. Who do I have to thank for this...none other than Carolyn McCarthy D-NY. We have sold more so-called 'assault weapons' than we have standard rifles this year with the new and improved Assault Weapons Ban, which is looming, that was introduced by McCarthy."

"A bill inspired by the Virginia Tech shootings is bogged down by objections over funding and who should be barred from buying a firearm."
"The bill would tighten requirements for states to share gun purchasers' mental health information with the federal government."
"Majority Democrats in the Senate were poised as early as this past Monday to bring the bill to a vote until Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., objected."
"Coburn says he has concerns that billions of dollars of new spending in the bill is not paid for by cuts in other programs. And he says the bill does not pay for appeals by veterans or other Americans who feel they have been wrongly barred from buying a gun." ... |

"Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., introduced Sullivan at the hearing, praising both his professional abilities and his character."
"'It is a job that he's proven more than qualified and capable of performing,' Kerry said."
"Sullivan also faced some grilling from Kennedy and Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., about whether the ATF would be willing to release more gun tracing data, a move the senators said could help state and local law agencies fight gun crime."

"Analysts at Wedbush Morgan initiate coverage of Smith & Wesson Holding Corp ... with a 'strong buy' rating. The 12-month target price is set to $26."
"In a research note published this morning, the analysts mention that the company has been gaining share in the pistols market, with the highly successful launch of the landmark M&P series of polymer pistols in January last year. ... The company has launched several products to expand its footprint in the $1.1 billion long-gun industry, which it entered into early last year, Wedbush Morgan adds. Smith & Wesson Holding is the frontrunner to win a US military contract, which could be worth $300-$500 million over the next several years, according to the analysts." |
