"The information available is mind-boggling. And the downside is trying to establish where the information came from — and why. There’s a lot of garbage floating around out there. "White proceeds to dissect Stancliff's sloppy recount of the same, tired, and false liberal rant about 'scare tactics,' 'fear,' 'lies,' 'rumors,' and, of course, this hate-mongering diaribe: 'Racists across the country are loading up on guns and ammunition like Armageddon is around the corner. "Gun rights advocates object to gun registration as offensive to the Second Amendment and a slippery slope toward gun confiscation, as happened in New York City and California in the late 20th century. But a Utah appeals court ruling on September 24, 2009 (quashing a hyper-zealous criminal prosecution of Kidus Yohannes, a legally present immigrant alien who made a mistake on a gun purchase form ...) highlights the danger of decentralized gun registration through gun dealer transfer records."
"The Utah man's crime? The alien registration number that Mr. Yohannes 'provided on the form was an application number given to Yohannes by immigration officials when he applied to change his status ...' and not his ... alien registration number." ... |

"Here’s a simple idea: You can be for the rights of law-abiding gun owners but also for common-sense policies to keep guns out of the hands of criminals."
"That idea has brought together a bipartisan group of more than 400 mayors from all over the country as the Mayors Against Illegal Guns coalition. I'm a veteran, a gun owner, a hunter and a member of the [NRA] — and I'm the mayor of Hurst and a member of Mayors Against Illegal Guns."

"My appreciation to the advocates of Concealed Carry On Campus for their involvement in the Virginia Tech Violence Prevention debate this week. I have some remarks I hope you will find helpful."
"People grieve differently. Some undergo a working through process, while others stagnate and seem to be locked in time, locked into one single stage of the grieving process. For their sake, they need to move on, which means to complete the process. Move on does not mean to drop it, it means to get to the next stage of the process, to walk through the end of the tunnel for a return to health. You also move on for the sake of the rest of the country." ... |

"In my last edition, I wrote how the grieving process is a seven stage working through process, and how some can inappropriately convert their anger into something meaningful to them as mistakenly therapeutic. The error comes from dwelling in the anger stage of the working through process and operating on anger instead of beginning activism once one emerges from the end of the process. Anger at the injustice can be a very wrong motivator as it begets wrong solutions. It's not always the right way to begin."
